JOHN RUHLANDER PITCHER. Very rare pitcher by noted New Jersey glass artist John Ruhlander has opaque white swirls against a rose colored background. Pitcher is finished with an applied clear handle in beautiful sweeping design. This exact pitcher is illustrated in The Glass Gaffers of New Jersey by Adeline Pepper on page 260. The pitcher was acquired by our consignor directly from descendents of John Ruhlander. It is our understanding that John Ruhlander worked at Whithall Tatum and that virtually all of his works were made on his own time as one of a kind pieces that he brought home to his family and to this day nearly all of these remain in the hands of the family. VICTORIAN THREADED PITCHER. Very unusual Victorian cranberry glass pitcher has body and neck completely covered with horizontal threading. As the pitcher is rotated in the light, the color changes from cranberry to yellow and the yellow shows a diamond quilted pattern. Pitcher rests on an applied clear glass base and is finished with an applied band of rigaree around the neck and an applied reeded clear glass handle. SIZE: 7-3/4″ t. RARE ADMIRAL DEWEY MINIATURE LAMP. Wonderful rare miniature oil lamp has bullet shaped font impressed with a ship on the front with “Admiral Dewey’s Lamp”. Backside has crossed flags and an anchor and says “Remember the Maine”. The lamp is fitted with its original ball shade with a picture of The Maine on the front and a mountain pictured on the back. RARE HARTFORD BLUES BASEBALL LAMP. Very rare kerosene lamp has figural base of baseball player at bat wearing a Hartford Blues uniform with “H” on the jersey and “Hartford Club” on his belt. The player stands atop an iron pedestal with fancy impressed white metal foot and supports a frosted glass font with clear polished design. Figural base retains some of its original gilt finish and is impressed near the foot “Pat Apl’d For”. This is a great piece of very early baseball memorabilia from the 1870’s. SIZE: 12-3/4″ t. FRANK W. SMITH STERLING TEA SERVICE. Beautiful five piece sterling silver tea and coffee service by Frank W. Smith Silver Co. of Massachusetts is comprised of a coffee pot, teapot, waste bowl, covered sugar, and creamer. Each piece with everted rim with C-scrolled Rococo cartouches, the spouts and handles with scrolling vinery and leaf tips all with foliate chase work raised on leaf-headed scroll feet. Each piece engraved in script on the base “M.F.B. from A.L.B. December Nineteenth 1883-1908.”, etched with social security ID number, stamped “sterling 2268”. Weight: 78 tr. oz. PAIR OF CAPO DI MONTE VASES. Nice pair of Capo di Monte vases are encircled with relief design of semi-nude women and cherubs around a Roman veranda. NIPPON BLOWN OUT PLATE. Wonderful hand painted Nippon plate has blown out design of lion and lioness on a rocky ledge overlooking the valley below. SUMIDA GAWA BRUSH WASHER WARE. Lovely highly glazed pottery bowl has sculptural figures of men and women around the outside of the bowl peering in. The outside of the bowl is glazed in dark brown with areas of mottled white, brown and maroon. Interior of the bowl is done in a medium green glaze. Signed on the underside with Japanese lettering. SUMIDA GAWA WARE VASE. Nice Japanese vase features applied sculptured figures of men and women showing a man and woman on rock ledge with woman above pouring water from a vase. LARGE JAPANESE CLOISONNE VASE. Wonderful Cloisonné vase has slightly square body with a decorated panel on each side. JAPANESE CLOISONNE VASE. Bulbous Cloisonne vase is dotted with delicately colored flowers in pinks, white and gold fleck copper. Late 19th/early 20th Century vases are hand painted with a romantic scene depicting young maidens served by putti in pastoral scene with the reverse depicting classical ruins. EUROPEAN ART GLASS VASE. Lovely red art glass vase done in the manner of Lalique has pressed design of fish swimming amongst aquatic vegetation. The fish bodies and lip of the vase are polished while the remainder of the vase is frosted. The fish have long flowing fins and tails. Unsigned. SIZE: 6-1/2″ t. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. At first glance, bottom of vase appears to have been drilled and filled, but testing with sharp point, acetone and hot needle reveals it to be all glass and just part of manufacture. 5-66659 (700-900)

CARVED HARDSTONE MOUSE. Exceptionally fine hardstone mouse (probably Russian) has beautifully carved detail with large ears, curling tail and finely detailed paws. The mouse is holding a carrot made of red stone in its front paws. The detail of the fur is painstakingly done and the mouse is finished with single cut diamond eyes. The vase has a crack to the interior layer of glass that does not appear to break into the exterior layer. WEDGWOOD FAIRYLAND LUSTRE PUNCHBOWL. Spectacular Fairyland Lustre punchbowl is decorated in the Poplar Tree pattern on the exterior with green Poplar trees framing views of an Italianate park with cypresses, statues and a fountain, a bridge over river as well as an architectural feature which appears to be a viaduct or bridge. Interior of the punchbowl is decorated in the Woodland Bridge pattern featuring a great deal of detail. A slender tree in the foreground supports a bird’s nest and extends up from an elaborate root system. The entire pattern has numerous hidden elves and trolls while birds and fairies fly across the multi-colored sky. The bottom of the bowl is finished with a center medallion depicting a mermaid gazing into a mirror. Signed on the underside with the Portland vase mark, “Wedgwood” and “Made in England”. TWO CONTROLLED BUBBLE VASES. Lot consists of two nice controlled bubble vases. First is an amber glass vase with slightly ribbed body resting atop a clear glass controlled bubble foot. Accompanied by an interesting wall vase with rounded front and flat back to set flush against the wall. Clear glass vase is decorated with large controlled bubbles. PULLED FEATHER ART GLASS VASE. Pretty art glass vase has green pulled feather design trimmed in light gold iridescence against an opal background. Body of the vase is lightly ribbed with ribs running at a slight diagonal on the vase. The slightly flaring mouth has a deep gold iridescent finish. Unsigned. SIZE: 5-3/4″ t. DAUM WINTER SCENE BOWL. Beautiful small Daum bowl has winter scene decoration with cameo and enameled trees emerging from a snow covered ground and backed by a mottled orange and yellow background. Very nice Daum oval salt has cameo and enameled winter scene decoration with snow covered trees extending from a snow covered ground with clusters of enameled trees in the background. DAUM MARTELE VASE. Lovely Daum vase has green cameo flowers, stems and leaves against a frosted background shading to green at stem and lip. The background is decorated with swirling bands of martele while the stem and foot are completely covered in martele. The green band at the lip is bordered with delicate pink as is the transition from frosted to green at the stem. Signed on the underside in polished pontil “Daum Nancy” with Cross of Lorraine. Central tree has lost its leaves and is enameled in shades of gray with realistic bark depiction. Trees extend up from a rolling meadow enameled in greens, yellows and browns. MULLER EQUESTRIAN CAMEO VASE. Very unusual Muller vase has cameo and enamel winter trees against a mottled purple to yellow to frosted background. In the center of the trees are two horse and riders and three hunting dogs. Vase is has beautiful cameo cutting and enameling and the background is a rich textured chipped ice finish. DAUM CAMEO & ENAMEL CABINET VASE. Very pretty Daum vase has delicate cameo leaves, stems and flowers against a mottled green shading to pink background. Leaves and stems are highlighted with gold gilt details, while the flowers are beautifully enameled in shades of purple. Lip of the vase is decorated with a stippled gold band with a weaving spray of flower buds and leaves. Buds are enameled in blues and reds, while the leaves are highlighted in gold. RARE DAUM ENAMELED VASE. Extremely fine flat gourd shaped vase has enameled decoration depicting Rene II; the Duke of Lorraine. It depicts the Duke atop his horse with Cross of Lorraine decoration on the horses halter. Decoration is set against an opalescent, sandblasted background. Vase is further decorated on the backside with a round white border with red Cross of Lorraine and engraved depiction of a castle with a gold enamel spread eagle and flowing banner with Cross of Lorraine decoration and “Priny Priny” in blue enamel. Vase rests atop an applied opalescent and enamel saucer foot. The blue opalescent body appears to be dichroic and changes from blue opalescence to fiery orange when backlit. DAUM NANCY PADDED & WHEEL-CARVED INKWELL. Base of inkwell is beautifully decorated with applied berries in intense indigo blue and is wheel-carved with brown to green carved leaves against a green to frosted carved background with the lid having matching leaves and background. DAUM CRANE VASE. Exceptional Daum vase has cameo decoration of a pond with pond lilies enameled in shades of gray. The frosted glass pond gives way to a shaded blue night time sky with gold foil inclusions giving the illusions of a starry night. The sky is filled with cranes in various stages of flight. Long stems of delicate red flowers descend from the rim. Rim is decorated with a band of delicate gold swirls and red enameled flowers.
