SUMIDA GAWA BRUSH WASHER WARE. Lovely highly glazed pottery bowl has sculptural figures of men and women around the outside of the bowl peering in. The outside of the bowl is glazed in dark brown with areas of mottled white, brown and maroon. Interior of the bowl is done in a medium green glaze. Signed on the underside with Japanese lettering. Vase carries an attached paper label handwritten that states the signature on the bowl is that of Ryosai. SIZE: 8″ dia. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. 5-66641 (400-600)
