TIFFANY MOSAIC PEACOCK CHANDELIER. Extremely rare Tiffany chandelier has peacock feather mosaic pattern done in iridescent favrile glass with colors of pink, blue, purple and green and the design is finished with a green swirled peacock eye. The iridescent favrile glass is set against a solid bronze flat conical shade and is lit by a very early six socket cluster with Tiffany chain hooks. Unsigned. The shade is pictured in Dr. Egon Neustadt’s book The Lamps of Tiffany on page 67, figure 96 as a kerosene chandelier. In Dr. Neustadt’s description he states that at that time, there was no other like it known. This rare piece was discovered in a warehouse in New Jersey where it had been stored for many years. The unusual dome-shaped six socket cluster is marked “Benjamin Patents Mar 3 1903”. SIZE: 38″ dia. CONDITION: Very good to excellent, as found condition. 5-66308 (10,000-15,000)
