MONUMENTAL GALLE CAMEO VASE. Spectacular monumental Galle vase has extremely fine cameo pond scene with water lilies, tiger lilies, cattails and a large dragonfly. The water lilies are done with brown cameo lily pads and white flowers with blue highlights while the tiger lily is done in beautiful lilac with brown and amber stems and leaves. Water is depicted with light blue glass with a clear glass casing over the top giving wonderful depth. Vase is finished with a dragonfly in flight having a brown body and green wings. Signed on the side in cameo “Galle”. SIZE: 19-3/4″ t. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. Someone mentioned they thought the vase had been cut-down, but we don’t see evidence of this other than the dragonfly is close to the top lip. In looking in several photographs of dragonfly vases, we see numerous examples of dragonflies depicted near the top. 5-65869 (2,000-3,000)
