22″ FRENCH BRU. This doll is marked “Bru Jne R” on the rear of the head. She has an open mouth with blue sleep eyes. This doll is known as the “Walking, Kiss-Throwing Bru”. As you pull the string coming from her torso, this raises her right forearm, giving the illusion of blowing a kiss. She has an antique white silk dress, brown human-hair wig and ORIGINAL marked Bru Jne shoes. RARE 26″ SIZE 12 LONG FACE JUMEAU. Marked Jumeau body in near excellent original condition. Plaster has been added to eyes. Doll comes in fancy ivory colored dress (some deterioration on sleeves). Shoes are marked “12”. Also included are a pair of white shoes (also marked “12”) wonderful pale blue bonnet, blue silk dress and ivory cape with bonnet, parasol and a charming wire rimmed hat. RARE AND DESIRABLE 13-1/2″ A4T FRENCH DOLL. An outstanding example of a rare French A. Thullier doll recently found in a Maine estate. The amber paperweight eyes with original setting give this young lady a somber look. Well-modeled, fine bisque enhances this doll. Doll retains original marked A4T shoes and socks. She has some underwear and later clothes that we do not believe to be original. CONDITION: The kid body is intact and in very good condition with the exception of small damage to right knee joint. Lacking cork pate and wig. The right bisque hand has a missing thumb and some minor scuffing to the fingers. 26″ TETE JUMEAU. Marked “Tete Jumeau 12” on rear of head. Doll is on a marked Jumeau body, which is in near excellent condition. Replacement wig and clothes, yet she still retains her original Be Be Jumeau size 12 shoes. Doll has large blue paperweight eyes and original spring in head, connecting it to the torso. 24″ Fre A 17 STEINER. This doll has blue paperweight eyes with beautiful even bisque. The straight wristed body has been over-painted, but is correct for the doll. 18″ ALL ORIGINAL FG FASHION. This doll is completely original on a gusseted kid body (right wrist patched). Her wool dress has faded to green, what was once mauve. She has a human hair dirty blonde wig with two buns on top and cork pate. 28449 (2,000-2,500)

21″ LARGE KESTNER GIBSON LADY. Beautiful uniform bisque on a kid body with bisque lower arms. Doll retains original plaster pate and has brown sleep eyes. Clothing is later replacement as well as the wig. She does, however, have a very nice antique silk bonnet. CONDITION: Body overall is in very good condition, some distressing at grommet joints. 11″ KESTNER 185 CHARACTER CHILD. An adorable closed mouth, smiling girl with molded teeth and set blue eyes. Doll retains its original plaster pate, brown mohair wig and is on a fully jointed pink composition Kestner body. Doll is wearing what we believe to be original white cotton dress and underwear. Body also has paper label on back stating that doll came from G.A. Schwarz of Philadelphia, PA and that the doll was specifically made in Germany for G.A. Schwarz. 12″ K*R 101 BOY. Marked “K*R 101 30cm.” on rear of head. Doll is on a fully jointed composition body that is in very nice original finish. (Hands possibly old replacements) CONDITION: Rub to left cheek, hip joint detached to thigh of composition body. Wig glued tight to head. Otherwise doll appears to be in very good to fine condition. 15″ SCHOENHUT CHARACTER GIRL. Doll retains original wig and shoes with older replacement clothing. CONDITION: Crisp, all original, untouched condition with a little crazing on the face. This is one of the nicest, original conditioned Schoenhut’s that we have handled. 28498 (600-800)

13″ KESTNER CLOSE MOUTH BRU LOOK-A-LIKE. Several companies in Germany imitated the French Bru look and manufactured them at a cheaper price. The doll has blue set eyes, open/close mouth imitating the Circle Dot Bru. Rear of head is marked with the number “5” and is on a bisque shoulder plate which is then attached to a kid body with bisque lower arms. CONDITION: Eyes have been reset to stationary. The doll’s upper left eye lid has a white spot inherent in its manufacture. Doll still retains its original plaster pate. 28450 (600-800)

20″ E7D FRENCH DOLL. This gal, with her open mouth and blue paperweight eyes still retains the original spring in her head, connecting to her torso. CONDITION: The ball jointed, composition body is in very good condition, with the exception of her hands, which have been repainted. Clothing, wig and shoes are newer replacements. 18″ SFBJ 235 CHARACTER BOY. A flocked hair (weak in spots, but still retains a great deal of flocking) character boy with unusually even bisque coloring and strong modeling on a jointed composition French body. He has brown eyes with two molded upper teeth. The clothing is not original, but his red leather boots are antique. CONDITION: Good to very good. 28463 (1,200-1,500)

11″ G. HEUBACH BISQUE SOCKET HEAD DOLL. 5-pc bent limb composition body in long white christening gown. Molded bonnet with roses and painted features, intaglio eyes. 11″ CARL BERGNER 3-FACED DOLL. Doll has crying/sleeping/smiling faces that revolve by turning the knob on the top of the doll’s head. The cape has been replaced but we feel that the dress and undergarments are original. Her body is of cloth and wood ball jointing. 15″ CLOSED MOUTH A.M. 1894. This shoulder head doll has set blue eyes and comes on a cloth body with bisque lower arms and legs. Clothing, as well as wig appears to be all original. 15-1/2″ A.M. FANY DOLL. Blue sleep eyes. The modeling and the bisque of this doll, marked “AM Fany 231” are outstanding. This is the proper body for this doll as it comes on a straight wristed, short and chunky thighed child body. The doll comes in old clothing and shoes and a “dirty blonde” mohair wig. CONDITION: The doll has a minute scratch on tip of nose and a pin head white spot under the chin. We mention both these, but do not feel they are significant or affect the value of the doll. TWO LARGE 37″ GLASS EYED WAX MANNEQUIN DOLLS. With finely detailed facial expressions and coloring. Inset human hair as well as eyebrows and eyelashes on wood-jointed mannequin bodies. LARGE WONDERFUL GOTTSCHALK GERMAN DOLL HOUSE. An impressive two-story with third story twin dormers paper lithographed doll house with porch and balcony. Two doors in front open to expose four rooms within and a staircase going to the second floor. The exterior containing a first floor bay window and large picture window on second floor. Three doors leading to the exterior. SIZE: 29″ h x 22″ w x 15″ d. CONDITION: Overall condition is fair. Although the brick work has had new brick paper applied, this was done many years ago. FASCINATING FOLK ART BUILDING/ DOLL HOUSE. A nicely made model of a clapboard house with finely shingled roof containing a front porch and second story porch. House contains a dormer in middle and a cupola with a little widow’s walk on top. Matching chimneys on right left side. Front and rear contain functional gutters. An intriguing piece probably made by a dad circa turn of the century. SIZE: 25″ h x 24″ w x 17″ d. CONDITION: Overall good. Rear porch missing, front gutter detached. CHARMING LITHOGRAPH BRICK DOLL HOUSE. Although non-commercially made, this two-storied house is well executed. Exterior has lithographed paper brick with ornamental wood windows and filigree adorning the roof line and cornices of house. The front porch is also of ornamental wood with a front door containing a mail box and lion’s head door knocker. Two opening front sections of the twin-peaked house expose four interior rooms which also include paper litho floors and walls and doll furniture. SIZE: 23″ h x 19″ w x 11″ d. PAPER LITHO BLUE ROOF DOLL HOUSE. A really nice three-storied blue roof doll house with front and side porch attributed to Moritz Gottschalk. The opening front section exposes the two lithographed paper rooms within. House has angled dormers, two chimneys and the original staircase. SIZE: 25″ h x 18″ w x 11″ d. LOT OF FOUR DOLL COOK STOVES. 1) Miniature green and nickel cook stove with back “Favorite”. 2) Early metal 2-burner gas range with oven “Superior” with warming oven on side painted gray. 3) Miniature cast metal with nickel plated finish flat top cooking range with starburst design on door painted silver. 4) Black and chrome type early electric range. SMALL EARLY OLD 19TH CENTURY WOODEN DOLL CARRIAGE OR STROLLER. This wooden three wheel stroller painted reddish brown with yellow flourishes and yellow painted wooden wheels. ATTRACTIVE LARGE 1903 TIN LITHO COKE “BETTY” SIGN. This large attractive tin self framed sign is a very popular early advertisement for Coke. Co., Coshocton, Ohio. SIZE: Overall image size in frame: 35″ w x 23″ h. CONDITION: Sign has been professionally restored retaining some soft creases. Other officers in the background, a black house servant in the foreground with children on the stairs. With original wood frame. SIZE: 30″ w x 23-1/2″ h. CONDITION: Fine rust pitting scattered over the surface of the sign. LARGE SCARCE ANTIQUE LITHOGRAPH BANNER ADVERTISING ANGOSTURA BITTERS. To our knowledge there are four known examples. This is considered by some to be the best example. Two of them are presently in museums. This lovely roll down with original metal bands at top and bottom depicts a young maid being served the bitters by two cherubs. “Presented by Dr. J.C.B Siegert & Sons, Sole manufacturers of the Celebrated Angostura Bitters”. STAFFORD’S INK EMBOSSED TIN SIGN. A nice chromolithographed tin sign printed by Sentenne & Green, NY with strong embossing, making the bottle seem very life-like. SIZE: 12″ x 16″ excluding frame. CONDITION: Very good with only a slight shallow denting noticeable only in cross light. Some areas of inpainting. Top of the frame partially conceals two nail holes that were originally used to hang the sign. 8-87133 (500-800)

SHOE STORE FIGURAL TRADE SIGN. One of the finest shoe store trade signs that we’ve ever handled, and simply an incredible piece of Americana. Wonderful two-sided, hollow-bodied sign with side panel graphics of mustached gent sitting within a larger than life-sized painted shoe which bears the words “Sample Store” on each side. Both the lettering and the graphic illustration have been perforated, with colored glass “jewels” inserted which, when illuminated from within, is truly riveting. SIZE: 52″ l x 43″ w x 7″ d. Early and uncommon advertising sign from the Rich Shoe Company featuring the embossed likeness of Julia Marlowe, popular New York stage actress at the turn of the century. She is flanked by examples of a variety of her name brand shoes. This is the only version known to us. SIGHT SIZE: 13-1/2″ w x 19-1/4″ t. WONDERFUL EARLY FOLK ART BOOT MAKER’S SIGN. This 19th C boot maker’s sign is sanded metal framed in wood. The double-sided sign features a cutout and painted wooden boot, which is applied in relief on the metal surface. SIZE: 36″ h x 29″ w. CONDITION: Paint on the lettering is worn. The tip of the tan colored boot on one side of the sign is missing. The reverse, with a white and black painted boot is complete, but some of the black sanded surface missing on the lower left-hand corner of that side. In general, has a wonderful look to it. PIED PIPER SHOES SIGN. Unusual sign medium of painted graphics and blue sand paint laid down on finely perforated aluminum panel. Possibly part of an electrified hollow bodied hanging sign. KEY CITY HOSE CO. SIGN. Late 19th C from Sturgis, SD, when it was known only as the Dakota Territory. Sturgis was a hub in the gold mining industry and became known as the “Key City”. Repose stylized sheet metal skeleton key bearing the words “Key City Hose Co.” in very early paint with the “Key” signifying the first word. Probably hung inside firehouse, due to its nice state of preservation. SIZE: 73-1/2″ l x 21″ w. CONDITION: Nicely oxidized sheet metal surface with original painted lettering. 1-29067 (1,500-2,500)

HOWARD JOHNSON’S PLASTER RELIEF. Plaster relief of the famous Howard Johnson pastry chef that hung at the restaurant. SIZE: 42-1/2″ t x 26″ w. CONDITION: Broken lower right corner, otherwise good condition with repainted surfaces. 1-29132 (300-500)

CARNEY DRUGS ELECTRIFIED 3-D HANGING SIGN. Wildly colorful and unusual, over-sidewalk hanging sign which features perforated aluminum panels on each side. The words “Carney Drugs” have been spelled out in orange against an opaque blue sand painted background on each aluminum panel, allowing illumination from the rows of bulbs on the inside to shine out through the centers of each letter. PORCELAIN ELECTRIFIED BARBER POLE. Classic barber trademark of a red, white and blue cylinder sitting atop a green and cream porcelain base. Round white milk glass globe has begun to turn lavender. WOOD BARBER POLE TRADE SIGN. Unusual polygon base and highly stylized multi-faceted pole, which tapers (“entasis”) similarly to the classic architecture found in Greek columns. LOT OF 3 BARBER POLE TRADE SIGNS. Lot consists of two half columns and one full round column. The split columns are constructed from vertical grain western red cedar with many layers of red, white and blue paint. The full column has slightly different profile and also shows multiple layers of paint, with the red being a more recent vintage than the other colors. SIZE: All are 8′ t.
