KEY CITY HOSE CO. SIGN. Late 19th C from Sturgis, SD, when it was known only as the Dakota Territory. Sturgis was a hub in the gold mining industry and became known as the “Key City”. Repose stylized sheet metal skeleton key bearing the words “Key City Hose Co.” in very early paint with the “Key” signifying the first word. Probably hung inside firehouse, due to its nice state of preservation. SIZE: 73-1/2″ l x 21″ w.
