RARE EARLY LITHOGRAPHED PAPER SIGN FOR “DR. PIERCES PLEASANT PURGATIVE PELLETS”. One of two known with the other one in the Library of Congress. This attractive antique sign in a reddish orange and black on white background depicts a young Jack at the Giants castle blowing a horn. The startled Giant looks out the window at Jack. Beneath the vignette “The Little Giant Cathartic”. Under the sign stamped “Entered in accordance to the Act of Congress in the year 1872 by R.B. Pierce MD in the Office of the Library OF Congress at Washington Printed by Clay Cosack & Co. Buffalo, NY”. This is both a rare and attractive early medicinal sign. SIZE: 27″ w x 32″ h.
