Cal. .22 LR. 21″ rnd bbl with ramp front sight. Case hardened and engraved action. Custom buttstock checkered in leaf and ribband pattern cheekpiece with Skeleton grip cap and buttplate. Stocks mounted with sling swivels. Full length forearm checkered in leaf pattern with case colored steel tip. Stocks by P. Letiecq. Receiver is beautifully engraved with well executed squirrel in tree scene on right surrounded by about 50% scroll coverage, left side engraved with well executed rabbits in oval also surrounded by well executed scroll. Lever engraved “Engraved by M. Pedini / Stocked by P. Letiecq”. Bow of trigger guard nicely engraved with initials “SLL”. Mounted with Redfield miniature 4X scope. PROVENANCE: Formerly in the J.R. ALEXANDER HENRY GRADE 3 SINGLE SHOT DROPPING BLOCK SPORTING RIFLE WITH AMMUNITION AND DIES.
SN 3285. Cal. .500/ .450 BPE. 28″ Tapered round bbl is marked with Henry name and address on top. Plain finished case hardened action with back action lock on left side is engraved “PATENT” and “No 1015” (use number) on top of receiver ring. “Alexr Henry” is on lock. SN is on trigger guard tang. Nicely figured straight grip stock measures 14″ over steel buttplate. Classically shaped forend without usual groove attaches to bbl with side bolt. Included with rifle are some loaded ammunition, dies, and bullets. PROVENANCE: Ledger page with specifications. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbl retains over 95% orig blue. Action and lock with 80% orig color, considerably faded, with some flecks and marks. Stocks retain most of their orig oil finish with numerous marks and dings. Bore is excellent. SN 82868 (on action visible when removed from stock). Cal. .300 H&H Mag. This fine custom rifle made by John Dubiel who was one of the top men at the old Hoffmann Arms, and who continued at their premises, has 26″ bbl with integral quarter rib, and is marked with makers name and “ARDMORE. OKLA” on top, and with caliber and no. “506” on rib. Magnum square commercial bridge Mauser action is fitted with flip-up peep sight dovetailed through bridge and G&H side mount. Magnum drop box bottom metal has release button in bow. Well streaked dense European walnut steel capped pistol grip stock is fitted with Silver type pad, and has nicely sculpted shadow line cheekpiece, and well cut point pattern checkering along with a horn forend tip. Lyman Alaskan scope with crosshair reticle is in G&H rings. Weight without scope: 9 lbs. 4 oz. LOP: 14″. CONDITION: Fine to very fine, retaining most of its orig blue with areas silvering on bbl, considerably silvered and browned on bottom metal. Stock retains most of what appears to be its orig oil finish with a number of marks, checkering lightly worn. Bore is excellent. Action smooth. SN 1556. (ca 1937) Cal. 30-06. 24″ Round bbl engraved “No 1556 Griffin & Howe Inc. New York” on top. Standard length Mauser 98 action has checkered bolt knob, and is fitted with Lyman 48 receiver sight. Standard military bottom metal has lock screw holes are filled. Dense European walnut stock with steel capped pistol grip has right hand cheekpiece, horn forend tip and well done wrap around checkering. Stock oval is engraved “J. E. P.” Rifle comes with carrying sling and green padded canvas and leather case by Alexandre Mareuil embossed “JEP” on leather label. PROVENANCE: Property of Joseph Prather, former long time President of Griffin and Howe. CONDITION: Very fine. There is some silvering to restored metal finish, and a few marks in orig finish of wood, with some oil added as maintenance. Checkering lightly worn, with some bumps. Cal. 30 – 06. 24″ Tapered bbl with fold down rear sights dovetailed through breech reinforce, and sleeved-on front ramp is marked “NIEDNER RIFLE CORP, DOWAGIAC, MICH.” 1903 Springfield action is unmarked. Bolt shroud is replaced by very unusual safety shroud by E. R. Stahl SN 7, which locks bolt in place while in battery and cocked. A Lyman peep sight is dovetailed through cocking piece. Trigger guard is fitted with push button stalking safety to lock trigger. Nicely marbled and lightly fiddle figured dense European walnut stock by Shelhamer (signed under Niedner steel buttplate) has horn capped pistol grip, schnabeled forend, and well cut point pattern checkering. Weight: 8 lbs. 1 oz. LOP: 15-3/4″. CONDITION: Fine, original, as found. Metal parts retain approx 90% orig blue, most loss on bottom metal. Stocks retain nearly all of their fine hand rubbed oil finish with numerous light marks and a few fairly deep, especially one about 1-1/4″ along right side of butt. Bore is fine. BRNO Arms ZKK action has been nicely polished and had bolt stop re-worked. Bolt has been engine turned, handle nicely checkered, and shroud has been modified for Model 70 type safety. Orig bottom metal and set trigger mechanism retained. Custom stock by Chris Wilcox has recoil bolts, rosewood forend tip and grip cap.
