*FINE CUSTOM RIFLE BY NIEDNER WITH SOME UNUSUAL FEATURES.

SN 787 (on bbl covered by stock). Cal. 30 – 06. 24″ Tapered bbl with fold down rear sights dovetailed through breech reinforce, and sleeved-on front ramp is marked “NIEDNER RIFLE CORP, DOWAGIAC, MICH.” 1903 Springfield action is unmarked. Bolt shroud is replaced by very unusual safety shroud by E. R. Stahl SN 7, which locks bolt in place while in battery and cocked. A Lyman peep sight is dovetailed through cocking piece. Trigger guard is fitted with push button stalking safety to lock trigger. Nicely marbled and lightly fiddle figured dense European walnut stock by Shelhamer (signed under Niedner steel buttplate) has horn capped pistol grip, schnabeled forend, and well cut point pattern checkering. Weight: 8 lbs. 1 oz. LOP: 15-3/4″. CONDITION: Fine, original, as found. Metal parts retain approx 90% orig blue, most loss on bottom metal. Stocks retain nearly all of their fine hand rubbed oil finish with numerous light marks and a few fairly deep, especially one about 1-1/4″ along right side of butt. Bore is fine.
