According to the consignor, the person this gun was shipped to subsequently competed at Camp Perry and reportedly won one of the matches there with this exact gun. *LATE PRODUCTION SPRINGFIELD SPORTING RIFLE WITH STAR GAUGE BARREL.SN 1407289. Cal. 30-06. Bbl date 3-32. Bolt numbered to match action. Knurled cocking piece. Lyman 48 receiver sight. Blued unmarked bottom metal. Stock with heavy steel checkered buttplate does not have “P” proof, and has been fitted with grip cap. Stock has been in this configuration for a very long time, and looks orig. CONDITION: Excellent, with possible re-shaping of stock. Over 90% metal finish. Stock has nearly all old oil finish, some silvering of buttplate and bbl band.
