FINE SHARPS NEW MODEL 1863 SADDLE RING CARBINE.

SN C18027. Cal. 50-70. Standard carbine with 22″ rnd bbl that has 3-groove rifling, square base front sight with nickel silver blade and 800 yard carbine ladder rear sight. Chamber area of bbl is marked “NEW MODEL 1863”. Receiver and lockplate have standard markings. Left side of receiver and wrist have a sling bar and ring. Mounted with replacement, uncheckered straight grain American walnut that has a small cartouche under the sling bar and a “DFC” (David F. Clark) replacement wood cartouche on the left side. Stock is without patchbox. Approximately 27,000 of these carbines were converted from percussion to center fire cartridge. These carbines usually saw hard service on the American frontier after the war and are rarely found today with any orig finish. CONDITION: Extremely fine plus. Overall retains about 99% crisp blue and case colors with only slight sharp edge wear. Stock and forearm have a few very small bumps and bruises, otherwise wood is sound and retains virtually all of its orig oil finish. Mechanics are crisp. RARE ENGRAVED REMINGTON MODEL 1888 SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER.

SN 485. Cal 44 WCF (44-40). Usual configuration with 5-3/4″ bbl, altered nickel silver front sight with 1 line “E. REMINGTON & SONS, ILION. N.Y. U.S.A.” that reads from muzzle to frame. Mounted with 2-pc replacement Remington logo embossed hard rubber grips. Front of the frame and bottom of bbl under ejector rod housing and inside ejector rod housing are stamped with the assembly number “115”. Revolver has nearly full coverage Nimschke-style engraving which consists of flowing foliate arabesque patterns with fine pearled background. Recoil shield & loading gate are engraved with Mr. Nimschke’s trademark sunburst patterns. Cylinder has matching foliate arabesque patterns on lands between the flutes with a fine zig-zag pattern around the rear edge. Matching engraving extends over the top strap & both sides of the bbl with geometric patterns around the address. Buttstrap has a plugged lanyard hole. Revolver has the overall appearance of having been close to a fire with fine pitting over most surfaces from smoke damage. There were less than 1,000 of these revolvers produced 1888-1889. They were the improvement on the Model 1875 with the reduced ejector housing web and shorter bbls. This model was unknown until an Hartley & Graham catalog of about 1888 was recently discovered which pictured the Model 1888 alongside the Model 1875. CONDITION: Very good to fine, all matching except grips which are replacements. Metal retains a cleaned gray metal patina with the aforementioned fine pitting. VERY ATTRACTIVE LOEWE BORCHARDT MODEL 1893 SEMI-AUTO PISTOL WITH STOCK AND HOLSTER.

SN 369. Cal. 30. Standard configuration Loewe Borchardt with 7-1/2″ bbl with integral front sight and adjustable rear sight blade. Chamber marked “WAFFENFABRIK / LOWE / BERLIN”. “D.R.P./No75837.” on center toggle link. “BU” proofs on left side of receiver and repeated on toggle assembly. “SYSTEM BORCHARDT.PATENT.” on right receiver. Checkered walnut grips with border. Numbered parts on gun are matching including each of the grips that have penciled numbers on their inner surface. Original matching magazine. Unnumbered shoulder stock that has been extensively customized with diamonds of checkering over the upper and lower spine with a large coyote measuring about 5″ across, engraved onto the left side. Complete with orig black holster. No attaching straps. CONDITION: VG overall condition with bbl having been professionally restored at which point the BU proofs were likely removed. The rest of pistol has about 95% blue with sharp edge wear/frosting and thinning of the front strap. Extractor has been polished and screw securing trigger housing has been altered or may be a replacement. Trigger and left grip screw have had their fire blue enhanced. Fire blued plates over recoil spring housing faded to about 70%. VG-EX condition grips that retain little of the orig varnish. Comparable condition magazine. Mirror bright bore. Perfect manual mechanics, though safety is a bit sticky. Shoulder stock with excellent metal fittings and customized board as previously noted. ENGRAVED REMINGTON VEST POCKET PISTOL NO. 1 A.K.A. “SAW HANDLE DERINGER”.

SN 275. Cal. 22RF. 3-1/4″ bbl. Full nickel finish. 2-pc walnut grips. Pistol is completely unmarked with the exception of the SN that is stamped on the inside left grip frame. Engraving consists of a single vine scroll on both sides of the receiver, 2 bands at the rear rnd portion of the bbl, and 1 ring at the muzzle. PROVENANCE: Bruce Burtner Collection. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Pistol retains 60-70% nickel finish with most of the wear on the right side of the frame. Rnd portion of bbl has slight batter marks. SN is clear. Breechblock/hammer shows a gray blue patina as does the trigger. Grips are very good and show traces of varnish finish with very few dents or scratches. CASED PAIR OF 12 MM CUSTOM ENGRAVED LEFAUCHEUX PIN FIRE REVOLVERS.

SN 8530/8531. Cal. 12mm. Consecutively numbered pair of deep relief engraved revolvers with spur trigger guards. 12″ overall, with 6-1/4″ oct to rnd bbls. Fixed front blade sights with unusual relief carved addresses on top of bbl with stippled backgrounds, “E.LEFAUCHEUX A PARIS”. Retained in custom mahogany, green baize, French fitted case. CONDITION: Very good as refinished and engraved. SN on 8530 is freshened, traces of blue finish. Both guns retain most of their apparent orig varnish to well fit grips. Mechanically functional, with well defined bores. Case is sound and solid with some chipping internally to mahogany veneer, hinge on right that holds case open is missing and facsimile parts are found in one compartment, left corresponding hinge is loose, two wood handled screwdrivers, brass oiler, and wooden handled brass cleaning jag are fitted in custom case. BEAUTIFUL HIGH GRADE DELUXE 12MM LEFAUCHEAUX BREVETTE PINFIRE WITH ROYAL CREST.

NSN. 12 mm. 11″ overall, 5.5″ oct bbl, standard military configuration, extremely fine relief engraved with cherubs, dragon, bird and floral motifs, and inset gold crown over “W” is found on backstrap. Front of barrel lug is engraved “LEBEDA / in/ PRAG” Anton Lebeda is found in Stockle as active 1841 till his death in 1857. He is known to have made guns for Kaiser Franz Joseph I. CONDITION: Very fine overall, barrel retains 95% of its original brown/plum finish, cylinder is bright plum/blue with gold borders and central gold scene. Relief engraving covers virtually all of frame, lower barrel lug, trigger guard, and hammer. Large fixed blade front sight and rear sight retains most of their bright blue. DIMINUTIVE CASED “LA FEMME FATALE” 2MM RING/PISTOL.

NSN. Cal. 2mm Finely made and delicate 9-shot finger ring of unique design, with pivoting hammer on one side, main spring wrapping around German silver finger loop, and with trigger that extends into firing position when cocked. 9-Shot revolving cylinder has spring detent bolt, and is manually rotated with knurled bead at top of cylinder. Cylinder is loaded by removal from the ring, and retained by a screw. Steel parts are niter blued. spring steel parts are temper blued, and body of ring is of polished German silver, and is engraved “LA FEMME FATALE” with acanthus engraved embellishments either side, and around off-side of ring. Ring is contained in its original reddish brown case with German silver inset into top of lid. Interior is lined with red velvet, with compartments for ring, screwdriver, and 9 pinfire cartridges, none of which are present. CONDITION: Excellent. Steel parts retain nearly all their orig bright blue. German silver ring retains nearly all its orig polish. Case leather is slightly chipped, with a few marks. Interior is very good. Interior is lined with burgundy velvet, with French fitted compartments for ring, screwdrivers, and 9 pinfire cartridges, 3 of which are present. CONDITION: Excellent, near new. Steel parts retain nearly all their orig bright blue. Cylinder has some very minor marks from being rotated. German silver ring retains nearly all its orig polish. Case leather is slightly chipped, with a few marks. Interior is excellent. Cartridges are glued into place and not removable. UNMARKED SHORT PINFIRE OVER/UNDER HUNTING RIFLE BUILT FOR EUROPEAN ROYALTY.

SN 1340. Cal 13 mm Pinfire. Rare small hunting rifle with 16-1/2″ Damascus octagon over/under bbls with bone front sight & fixed rear sight. Damascus patterns are extremely fine with star bursts in the center. Side ribs are of equally fine Damascus. The round action receiver is tapered with stalking safeties on each side. Lock plates are back action with goose neck hammers. Mounted with a very highly figured French walnut buttstock that has shallow cheek piece and smooth steel shotgun buttplate with long tang. Bottom of stock & bottom of bbls have sling swivels containing an original green leather sling. Trigger guard is 2 pieces of steel and horn with fancy finger rest carved into the horn portion. Front of the trigger guard is the opening lever which when depressed allows the barrels to tip downward for loading. Receiver is beautifully relief engraved with a large vignette of two hounds chasing a stag on the left side and a bugling stag and hind on the right side, all surrounded by wonderfully executed foliate patterns with gold leaf background. The entire receiver is covered in intertwined foliate patterns with fine stippled background. Lock plates are matching engraved with vignettes of Raebuck and does, also in very detailed background scenes with gold leaf background. Hammers are deep relief engraved also with gold leaf in the recesses. Hammer nuts are gold covered. Stalking safeties are also engraved and gold inlaid with engraved screw heads. Sides of the top barrel, top flat of the barrel and top tang are beautifully inlaid in extremely fine gold leaf & vine patterns. Trigger guard is engraved with a standing stag that has a gold leaf background. Bottom of the receiver is inlaid in cross-hatched gold. Buttplate tang is engraved to match with the number “5”. Receiver has double triggers with the front trigger set for the top barrel. This rare rifle is pictured in a self produced booklet of an individuals collection with the entire book written in German. CONDITION: Very fine. The metal is mostly a gray patina with sharp Damascus pattern on the barrels. The gold leaf in the engraving is virtually all intact. The horn trigger guard is completely intact. Buttstock is sound with a few light nicks & scratches and retains most of its original finish. G. L. RASCH SHORT BARRELED PINFIRE DOUBLE RIFLE.

NSN. Cal. .577 (1-1/2″ pinfire cartridge). 15″ Octagon etched Damascus bbls. Forward lever tip-down action is fitted with fancy outline back action locks with tall chamfered serpentine hammers with stylized dolphins heads. Makers name and “Braunschweig” are on either side of action bar. Action and locks are finely engraved with an interesting array of acanthus and floral motifs. Top strap has semi-relief oval engraved with “W” under a sovereign’s crown. Trigger guard is nicely filed and has horn grip extension. Nicely marbled and well figured European walnut stock is fitted with checkered steel buttplate with cartridge box on right side with hinged cover engraved with acanthus and flowers matching action, having central vignette of a grazing doe. Stock also features a right hand cheekpiece and well cut checkering. CONDITION: Good. Bbls have traces of what appears to be orig finish where protected. Action and lock metal are cleaned to silver gray. Stocks have remnants of old finish over numerous marks and dents. Bores are fine with some rusting in left bbl. Action is tight. SUPERB QUALITY HAMMER DOUBLE SHOTGUN BY JOSEPH HEINIGE OF VIENNA.

NSN. Cal. 16 ga. 2-1/2″ Chamber. 30″ Bernard pattern bbls have makers name and address on rib with gold inlaid scroll at breech ends. Tip-down action with forward pivoting lever is fitted with peninsula back action locks with re-bounding serpentine hammers. Action is extensively and finely engraved with well cut acanthus and game scenes. Some scroll and outlines of vignettes are gold inlaid. The monogram “CW” surmounted by a sovereign’s crown is in relief at top of action. Finely figured and marbled walnut stock has steel buttplate, right hand cheekpiece, and horn grip extension. Grip is checkered, as is captive forend. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Bbls show light cleaning to gray with pattern still visible. Other metal parts darkened to medium gray. UNUSUAL SLIDING BREECH SHOTGUN BY ROUSSELOT & DEREAU OF PARIS.

NSN. Cal. 16 ga. 30″ Twist bbls, essentially a combination of toggling and sliding action of a Darne coupled with firing pins of a needle gun, this early and innovative shotgun is quite scarce. Breech is foliate and scroll engraved. One piece stock with steel buttplate is checkered from behind trigger guard tang to forend. CONDITION: Fine, as completely refinished. Bbls have nearly all of a fine re-brown. Action coin finished. Stock has some minor marks and a relatively new oil finish. Wood is somewhat below metal. Extensive checkering is competently re-cut. HIGH QUALITY PERCUSSION DOUBLE SHOTGUN BY PIRMET OF PARIS CONVERTED FROM FLINT.

NSN. Cal. 20 ga. 30″ Bbls are gold inlaid “Pirmet” “a Paris” at breech ends, with gold damascened spiderweb around front sight. Percussion conversion effected with new patent breeches, and locks fitted with flat faced hammers, are both gold inlaid “Permet a Paris”. Nicely sculpted steel trigger guard has urn and floral finial with “G” gold inlaid on bow. This URN motif continues to steel buttplate and thimble. Lightly figured walnut swan necked stock has relief carved grotesque head at grip with more relief carving behind cheekpiece. Grip and forend checkered. Ivory tipped baleen ramrod with worm is held by two fancy pipes. CONDITION: Very fine to excellent, as refinished at time of conversion with some subsequent bluing of bbls. There is a considerable amount of case hardening color on trigger guard and buttplate. Stocks show many scratches and bumps. Bores are very fine, lightly frosted. “BOISSY” MARKED, DOUBLE BARREL, BREAK OPEN, PINFIRE PISTOL WITH FOLDING SPUR TRIGGERS.

NSN. Cal. 11mm. 3-1/2″ Round bbls. Pivoting lever boxlock action is nicely scroll engraved, spur triggers descend when hammers are cocked. “Boissy” is stamped on water table. Fluted and carved ebony stock has steel cap. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain a considerable amount orig blue. Action retains most of its bright polish with some light staining.
