ENGRAVED REMINGTON VEST POCKET PISTOL NO. 1 A.K.A. “SAW HANDLE DERINGER”.

SN 275. Cal. 22RF. 3-1/4″ bbl. Full nickel finish. 2-pc walnut grips. Pistol is completely unmarked with the exception of the SN that is stamped on the inside left grip frame. Engraving consists of a single vine scroll on both sides of the receiver, 2 bands at the rear rnd portion of the bbl, and 1 ring at the muzzle. PROVENANCE: Bruce Burtner Collection. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Pistol retains 60-70% nickel finish with most of the wear on the right side of the frame. Rnd portion of bbl has slight batter marks. SN is clear. Breechblock/hammer shows a gray blue patina as does the trigger. Grips are very good and show traces of varnish finish with very few dents or scratches. A nice example of an early Remington Vest Pocket Pistol. 51641-25 TEP (1,000-1,500) – Lot 2216
