UNUSUAL SLIDING BREECH SHOTGUN BY ROUSSELOT & DEREAU OF PARIS.

NSN. Cal. 16 ga. 30″ Twist bbls, essentially a combination of toggling and sliding action of a Darne coupled with firing pins of a needle gun, this early and innovative shotgun is quite scarce. Breech is foliate and scroll engraved. One piece stock with steel buttplate is checkered from behind trigger guard tang to forend. CONDITION: Fine, as completely refinished. Bbls have nearly all of a fine re-brown. Action coin finished. Stock has some minor marks and a relatively new oil finish. Wood is somewhat below metal. Extensive checkering is competently re-cut. Bores are very fine to excellent. Locking bolt needs aligning after each operation. 51702-2 MGM64 (3,000-4,000) – Lot 2234
