UEBELACKER PADDLE WHEEL BOAT WITH ORIGINAL BOX. Very handsome side wheeler hand enameled with brown deck and upper sides, brown canopy with red pinstripes, red hull and side paddles. Retains both decals stating “Niagara”. Under the canopy are flat lead passengers seated at a table. Boat is highlighted by gold figurehead in the form of a mermaid and two flags. Red ship’s wheel at stern turns rudder. Uebelacker used a unique windup mechanism which winds with a hand crank at the rear of the boat. Accompanied by its original box and instruction sheet. SIZE: 12-1/2″ l. CONDITION: Boat is in very good condition with significant paint flaking to hull. Box is very good with one puncture hole to one side. 1-10854 (1,000-2,000)

SUPERB AND WELL-EXECUTED MODEL OF A WORKING LIVE-STEAM TRACTION ENGINE. This museum-quality model features a horizontal single cylinder of approx. 7/8” dia. Bore x 1” stroke, side-mounted valve chest with linkage to crankshaft-driven eccentric rod, cylinder top-mounted throttle valve with top-mounted brass safety and linkage to cab-operated hand throttle. Well detailed cylinder heads and packing glands, single 4-1/2” dia. spoked flywheel sliding gear reversing mechanism, bull gear and pinion drive to rear axle and twin 6” dia. spoked wheels. The boiler of locomotive design with 2-1/2” dia. barrel, four 5/8” dia. boiler tubes, riveted firebox, smoke box and water-leg, wood or coal grates, cab-mounted gauge glass. ¾” dia. brass pressure gauge reading 0-150. Working smoke box door with hand-lever latch. Green and black painted boiler with brass bands, check valve and piping to cab-mounted hand operated boiler feed pump, cylinder saddle blower with valve and piping to smoke box, tapered stack and hinged firebox door. Chassis details include: twin 3-3/4” dia. spoked steerable front wheels with 1-1/4” dia. cab-mounted steering wheel with shaft to worm-gear driven cross shaft to chain steering. Other details include: brass wheel hubs, brass steam whistle, and gear control to multi-gear rear wheel drive. SIZE: Overall 18” l X 7-1/2” w x 11-3/4” h to top of stack. RARE & WELL-ENGINEERED BUILDER’S MODEL OF A MARINE CENTER FOUR-PILLAR, TWIN-PISTON BEAM STEAM ENGINE. This finely-constructed and well-presented model consists of an open-feetwork beam supported in the center by split double-columns supported by four pillars connected in one-piece pairs by horizontal cross-members. The beam is driven by a single vertical cylinder of approx. 1-1/2” bore x 2-3/4” stroke. The cylinder front-mounted valve chest with linkage to base-mounted cross-shaft and rod to a crankshaft-driven eccentric, single 8” dia. Serpentine-spoked flywheel and single 2-1/2” spoked, flat-belt drive pulley. Opposite end of crankshaft is attached to the opposite end of the beam by a double-tapered connecting rod. The beam drives two pistons mounted in-line on either side of the center pillar, each connected to the beam by a single connecting rod which transitions to a double rod on either side of the beam. Pistons are approx. 1” bore x 1-1/4” stroke. The iron or steel base and flywheel all appear to be machined, welded, and polished, vice cast. All of brass and polished steel construction mounted on a 2-pc walnut display operating base. Model operates perfectly on either steam or compressed air. SIZE: Operating base is 18” x 7-1/2”. Overall height from bottom of base to top of engine is 16’4”. CONDITION: Mechanically perfect. Entire model found in excellent, untouched, unpolished, original patina. 1-10548 (3,000-6,000)
