UNSIGNED (American, First third of the 19th Century) FOLGER FAMILY PORTRAIT. Watercolor on paper folk art portrait shows a seven member family seated in a landscape. The father is seated in a writing arm Windsor pointing to a drawing of a house. The mother is seated in a side chair while the five daughters surround them. One holds a stringed instrument beside her. Presumably the landscape which has a clearing behind them is where they will build their house. On the back of the paper is written “Painted 1818” and “Family name”. Presently housed in a hinged tan matte which indicates that on the back of the paper of the original frame it stated Folger Family, Maine 1825. SIZE: 10-1/2″ x 13″. A NICE DELAWARE CHIPPENDALE CHERRY PEMBROKE TABLE WITH ORIGINAL SURFACE. A rectangular top with conforming hinged leaves projecting above the conforming apron, raised on square tapered and chamfered legs joined by an x-stretcher. The hinged rectangular top with shaped and scalloped edges opening to a baize lined playing surface fitted with wells for cards and chips above the conforming frieze fitted with central cock-beaded drawer. The whole raised on slender tapering cylindrical legs with shaped returns terminating in pad feet. Second half 18th Century. SIZE: H 28”, W 32”, D 15”. TWO ROYAL BAYREUTH LOBSTER PITCHERS AND A COVERED CONDIMENT DISH. Early 20th century. The two butter pitchers with claw spouts and molded green handles, the larger with blue mark, the second with green mark. The covered condiment with applied green handle, leaf-form underdish, and leaf-form spoon. The condiment with green mark, the underdish with blue mark. SIZE: Pitchers: 4-1/2″ h. and 4″ h. respectively. Covered condiment with dish: 4-1/2″ h. CONDITION: The larger pitcher with some paint loss to sides of legs and inner antennae. The smaller pitcher with tiny flake on crown of lobster. The covered condiment with minor paint losses to inner surface of dish.
