*SUPERB AND RARE L.C. SMITH EAGLE GRADE 20 GA FEATHERWEIGHT EJECTOR SHOTGUN.

SN FWE136357. (ca 1932) Cal. 20 ga. 2-3/4″Chambers. 26″ Nitro steel bbls are rolled with “L. C. SMITH Eagle GRADE” on top right, and “HUNTER ARMS CO INC M’F’R’S FULTON, NY, USA” on top left. Bbl flats are stamped with SN, “E”, Hunter proofs, and for 2-3/4″ chambers. Featherweight action features non-automatic safety, Hunter selective “One Trigger”, and automatic ejectors. Action is engraved in typical Eagle Grade patterns with scroll highlights surrounding semi-relief renderings of flying pheasant on left lock, duck on right, and with perched eagle on top lever. Fine fancy figured American walnut capped pistol grip point pattern checkered buttstock measures 14-1/2″ over ribbed composition buttplate. A gold oval on toe line is engraved “E. M. F.” Matching splinter ejector forend has inset ebony tip and secondary ejector latch. Bore diameter: left -.612, right -.611. Bore restrictions: left -.014, right -.007. Trigger guard retains nearly all of a properly restored blue. Stocks retain nearly all of an older hand rubbed finish over a number of older marks, checkering re-cut. SN 6121E. Cal. 20 ga. 26″ bbl, 2-3/4″ chambers, full length matted rib with brass front bead and marked “HUNTER ARMS CO. FULTON, NEW YORK” at breech. Blued front position Hunter One SST, automatic ejectors, non-auto safety. Capped full pistol grip buttstock, checkered in 2-point pattern and of beautifully figured English walnut with excellent grain pattern and dense mineral streaking. Serrated lined HRBP. Splinter forearm with banjo roll type release, checkered in 3-point pattern with triangular ebony tip. Receiver is beautifully engraved with quail on right and left sidelocks surrounded by light scroll engraving in typical Grade 3 pattern. Bottom of receiver is lightly scroll engraved. Trigger guard bow with burst of scroll and geometric design and SN noted at tang. Top of frame and top lever are also lightly scroll engraved. Bore diameter: left – .590 , right – .590. SN FWE103389. Cal. 20 ga. 2-1/2″ Chambers. 28″ Bbls with concave, matted, game rib are marked “L.C. SMITH TRAP GRADE” and “HUNTER ARMS CO., INC. M’F’R’S FULTON, N.Y. U.S.A.” on tops. Sides of breech ends are engraved with bits of scroll. Bbl flats are stamped with SN, grade, and Hunter proofs. Case hardened featherweight frame with SN and grade on water table, features non-automatic safety and double triggers. Action is engraved in typical “Trap” grade style with 30% coverage simple scroll. Lockplates have matching scroll surrounding vignettes of trap shooters; a group of five on line shooting clay targets on left, and a single shooter on right aiming at live pigeon released from trap. “L.C. SMITH” is stamped at front of each lockplate. Trigger guard is scroll engraved on bow, and has SN at grip. Beautifully figured American walnut capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/2″ over thin red HAWKINS pad, and features point pattern checkering with line borders which continues over grip. SN 216931. (1913) Cal. 12 ga. This fine old gun was made during the first year of production of the “Eagle” grade, and has 30″ bbls with matted rib marked “L. C. SMITH EAGLE GRADE” and “HUNTER ARMS CO M’F’R’S FULTON, NY” on tops. Bbl flats are stamped with SN and grade. Case hardened standard weight action with non-automatic safety and selective Hunter One trigger, is engraved in the unique “eagle” grade manner, with approx 50% coverage large scroll, as counterpoint to relief engraved birds on lockplates and top lever. A flying pheasant is on left lock, and a flying mallard on right. A flying eagle is on top lever pivot. On this particular early gun, these engravings are exceptionally well done, especially the pheasant. “L. C. SMITH” is in English script on each lockplate. Scroll engraved trigger guard has SN on tang. Nicely marbled European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-1/4″ over reproduction NOSHOC pad. Point pattern checkering with line borders is at grip. Matching splinter ejector forend with inlet ebony tip, has usual J-spring along with secondary roll release in guitar shaped escutcheon. SN 200884. Cal. .410. 26″ Bbls with single sighting plane rib, have usual markings on tops with “Field” altered to “Trap”. Case hardened featherweight action is engraved with regular trap grade embellishment including sprays of scroll with squad of trap shooters on left, and pigeon shooter on right. SN is on tang of scroll engraved trigger guard. Somewhat fiddle figured American walnut capped pistol grip stock measures 14″ over serrated composition buttplate. Point pattern checkering wraps over top of grip. Matching splinter forend has J-spring release. Bore diameter at muzzles: left -.395, right – .397. Drop at heel: 2-9/16″, drop at comb: 1-3/8″. Neutral cast. Weight: 5 lbs. 15 oz. LOP: 14″. Gun is accompanied by a LOM case. According to John Houchins “L.C. Smith The Legend Lives”, only 2 orig trap grade .410’s were made. A man could spend a lifetime searching for one of those and never have the opportunity to acquire one. Lightly fiddle figured American walnut capped pistol grip buttstock measures 14″ over leather covered NOSHOC pad. Large beavertail ejector forend with typical release matches well except for figure. SN 205761. Cal. 20 ga. 28″ Chromox fluid steel bbls. 2-3/4″ chambers. Full length matted top rib with faux ivory front bead and small gold bar near muzzle. Tops of bbls marked “Made to order, A.H. Fox/ Chromox Fluid Steel”. Scalloped boxlock action with rebated frame. Nickel plated dbl triggers, auto ejectors, auto safety. Straight grip buttstock with checkered side panels and elongated diamond pattern through grip is of fancy marblecake walnut and 15-1/8″ LOP over black leather covered pad. Splinter forearm with Deely release is near full coverage checkered. Receiver is beautifully engraved in classic X grade oak leaf pattern with woodcock on left, quail on right and on bottom. Trigger guard with oak leaf pattern and unengraved shield. “Safe” in gold in front of safety. This gun is housed in its orig light brown leather toe under case with green felt interior. *VERY RARE WINCHESTER CUSTOM GRADE MODEL 21 .410 SHOTGUN W/GOLD INLAYS AND SOLID RIB.

SN 28490. Cal. 410. Fine Model 21 with 26″ bbls choked Mod/IMP.CYL. that have a tapered concave matted rib (very rare) and Bradley white bead front sight. Rib has a recessed panel marked “CUSTOM BUILT BY WINCHESTER”. Water table of frame and the bbl flats have lightning cuts. Shotgun has single selective trigger and ejectors. Mounted with beautiful, very highly figured, center crotch, flame grain American walnut with checkered Hessian-style forearm and straight stock with checkered butt. Receiver is without engraving but has three very highly detailed, flat gold inlays of a flying woodcock on the left side, a flying Ruff Grouse on the right sight and a flying Pheasant on the floor plate. Top tang has “SAFE” inlaid in gold and the trigger is gold plated. Water table on the receiver, standing breech bbl flats, bbl faces and lugs are jeweled. Inside of the forend iron is also jeweled. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum Records Office Worksheet which identifies this shotgun as a Custom Grade in Cal. 410 with 26″ bbls, chambered 3″, matte rib, checkered wood butt, field-style beavertail forend, with standard pitch, 14-1/4″ LOP, drop at the heel 2-1/2″, drop at the Comb 1-1/2″. It was to have checkered full fancy grade AA American walnut, panel in the rib marked “CUSTOM BUILT BY WINCHESTER”, rounded frame engine turned bright metal surfaces, gold plated trigger with extra gold presentation-3 birds inlaid. Sheet also shows “Special Custom, Olin Account” and “Made for: Olin Corporate Division, 420 Park Avenue, New York, City, NY”. Inspection started April 12, 1965. In addition to being a very rare genuine Winchester Model 21 .410 w/matted rib, it was apparently intended as a gift or presentation from the Olin Corporation. CONDITION: Extremely fine plus, all matching. Overall retains virtually all of its crisp, orig factory finish to both metal and wood with no discernible flaws on the wood. Mechanics are crisp. Lightweight blued action is engraved in 21-4 style; ducks on left, quail on right and pointer & setter on bottom. Spectacular flame figured American walnut with straight grip buttstock measures 14-1/8″ over checkered wood butt. *UPGRADED TRAP GRADE MODEL 21 DOUBLE-BARREL SHOTGUN WITH HUEY CASE.

SN 7338. Cal. 20ga. Fine Model 21 with 26″ bbls that have matted, concave solid rib, double beads and ejectors. Receiver has Winchester single selective trigger. Trigger plate, just behind the trigger, is engraved “MWD” which is apparently the initials of the engraver. All the engraving is surrounded with foliate arabesque patterns without shading or background. Fences are engraved with oak leaves that have fine stippled background.
