*VET BRINGBACK “RED NINE” BROOMHANDLE MAUSER W/CAPTURE PAPER.

SN 90989. Cal. 9 mm. 5-1/2″ bbl. Fine specimen albeit refinished of Red Nine Broomhandle Mauser captured by Cpl. Graybill Echo Mohlar, who passed away in 1993. Typical configuration with rear sight marked to 500 and Red Nine carved into wooden grips. Trigger safety and bolt stop all have lustrous blued finish. Markings appear matching throughout. CONDITION: Overall appearance and finish extremely fine to near excellent arsenal refinish with light wear to high edges and finish thinning to bare metal at muzzle. SN on top of bolt faint. SN 100285. Cal: 9 mm. Standard configuration Red 9 with 5.5″ bbl, having fixed front and slip in 50-500 rear sight. Usual 3-line address on top of chamber with full SN on left chamber flat. Crown/Crown U proofing on left side of bbl extension with inspection Crown/J on right side. Short extractor and dual lug firing pin. Grooved follower as often used to better feed the 9mm cartridge. Prussian eagle on forward frame and 2-line Mauser address on right side of frame. Late configuration, Red 9 oak grips. Replacement lanyard ring. Major parts rust blued. Fire blued extractor, bolt stop, rear sight, trigger and safety. Pistol is fully matching, including extended disassembly that shows a matching floorplate, sear, and locking block. Each of the grips is correctly matched with the full SN. Shoulder stock has been lightly refinished with scattering of handling dings and 8 nail holes have been filled on front surface. Forced matching lug with salt blue finish numbered “285”. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Approximately 98% lightly recoated rust blue without having been polished. Fire blued parts with approximately 75% orig heat treatment with only the bolt stop having been touched up. Excellent, crisp grips. Generally bright bore with mild erosion in grooves. SN 42662. Cal. 7.63 mm. Standard configuration early Small Ring Bolo with 4.75″ bbl having fixed front sight and slip in 50-1000 rear sight. Short extractor and 2 lug firing pin. Usual address on top of chamber with full SN on left chamber flat. Crown/Crown U proof on left side of bbl extension. 2-line Mauser address on right side of frame. Full SN on backstrap below locking lever that is repeated in full or with the last three digits on the back of the sub-frame, hammer, top of bolt, under sight bar and bolt stop. Major components rust blued. Fire blued extractor, rear sight, bolt stop, safety, grip screw. Strawed trigger. Checkered hard rubber grips molded with the “Mauser Werke” logo. Disassembly shows all internal components are matching, including floorplate, locking block, transfer bar and sear. Firing pin and follower are unmarked. Orig checkered hard rubber grips each scribed with a matching “662”. Lanyard ring present. Accompanied by a medium brown holster with “Victory” marked flap retained to body with a stud and having a single riveted belt loop on obverse surface. Complete with two full 10-shot stripper clips of ammunition. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: At least 97% bright orig rust blue with minimal sharp edge wear and transitioning patina of the front and back strap. Comparable condition fire blued small parts, the cursor having a small patch of oxidation on top surface, that show no suggestion of enhancement. Similar condition concerns apply to the straw trigger and the hard rubber grips. Mirror bright bore. Perfect manual mechanics. Near excellent holster with supple leather and orig stitching. *EXCEPTIONALLY FINE 1914 ARTILLERY LUGER PISTOL WITH IDEAL TELESCOPING STOCK.

SN 3769. Cal. 9mm. 8″ bbl with adjustable front sight and slide adjustable rear sight on bbl with early fine tuning adjustment. Dated over chamber “1914” with toggle marked crown over “ERFURT” with Imperial proofs on bbl, receiver, toggle and trigger guard. 2-pc checkered walnut grips. Rust blue finish overall. Small parts finished in straw coloring with nickel finished wood based magazine. Artillery is accompanied with an Ideal manufactured telescoping holster stock complete with the Ideal adapter grips. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine overall, with very little wear, slight finish loss as to be expected at muzzle. High points of receiver, front and back straps with slight discoloration on left side of frame above grip. After detailed disassembly all parts found to be matching with exception of magazine which is a proper type but mis-numbered. The Ideal telescoping stock all metal is exceptionally fine with most finish remaining. Slight brown discoloration at butt end, but metal is very good overall. Leather has gone untreated and is somewhat brittle. Stitching has deteriorated and is no longer secure. Full SN with letter suffix on forward frame, repeated SN under bbl and on left side of receiver. Bbl and right side of receiver with usual Waffenamt acceptances. Disassembly shows all small parts to have matching SNs. Orig checkered wooden grips, each marked “4” on inner surface. Mag with blued body and “renumbered to match” aluminum base that is also marked with a 42 code and “E/63”. Complete with brown leather holster dated 1936, acceptance stamped “E/WaA387”. Spare mag is from a WWI Erfurt Luger numbered “9529/+”. Takedown tool marked “42” on front and “2804” on back. CONDITION: Approx 95% orig salt blue with wear in expected areas around muzzle, forward rails, hump of sideplate and slight thinning of front and back strap. Disassembly shows all small parts to have matching SNs. Reproduction black plastic grips and correct extruded FXO, double eagle/37 marked P08 magazine, with black plastic base. Black holster marked “BCB/42”, acceptance stamp not discernible, in addition to the large “P.08”. Spare mag with blue folded body and unmarked aluminum base. No takedown tool. CONDITION: Pistol with approx 75-80% salt blue, some touch up having been applied to bbl and area around the chamber. Reproduction Black Widow grips show significant gaping around the grip screws. CONDITION: Pistol with approx 80-85% orig salt blue with most external markings white highlighted. Much worse condition grips, likely replacements, with the right grip screw reblued. Crisp bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. VG mag with significant wear on front and rear spine. Supple leather holster though lid has considerable crazing. Full SN with letter suffix on forward frame, repeated SN under bbl and on left side of receiver. Bbl and right side of receiver with usual Imperial acceptances. Front strap with Regimental markings “II/234.4.2.”. Takedown lever has been repaired with spliced-on section obscuring orig number. Disassembly shows all small parts to have matching SNs, including each of the grips. Era correct commercial mag with tinned body and unmarked wooden plug. SN 20. Cal. .27mm. 5″ brass mono-block double bbls with flared muzzle. Push latch bbl release with double checkered face plates on each side below the bbl. Butt is marked “AW.W.17.” over “20”. SN 20 is also stamped on bbl release and on breech end of bbl rib. Double checkered steel hammers. Single checkered steel trigger. Smooth walnut grips. Butt mark signifies manufacture by “Arsenalwerkestatte Wilhelmshaven”, manufactured 1917. Only 2500 pieces of this early signal pistol were manufactured. They were used as signal pistols on German U-boats. CONDITION: Excellent. Pistol shows a deep uncleaned mustard/brown patina overall. Markings are sharp. Grips are very good. Bores are slightly eroded. Right hammer does not stay in cock position. Left hammer functions. Hammers and trigger show corrosion overall.
