*SCARCE JOHN MARTZ CUSTOM BABY LUGER.
SN 3786e. Cal 9 MM. Bright metal gray finish with 2-1/2″ bbl, with standard Luger front sight. Chamber is marked with a “G” and the toggle “S/42″. Mounted with full-checkered, shortened walnut grips. Overall length is 7″ and overall height is about 4-3/4”. Trigger, lock-bolt, magazine release, thumb safety and ejector are straw colored. Left front side of frame is marked “MSTR” and right side of receiver has engraved proofs. Pistol is of mixed numbers. Accompanied by a Martz custom stand with aluminum rotating top on a walnut base which when rotated open exposes compartments for 2 baby Luger magazines and 7 cartridges. Cartridges are permanently mounted in the display stand. John V. Martz (1925-2013) began altering Lugers & P38s in about 1968 and for the remainder of his career produced numerous works of art with these 2 models of pistols. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Overall retains virtually all of the Martz custom bright finish. Grips are crisp. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore. Frame lug shows Hi-Standard address & patent mark on left side. Slide is marked “Hi Standard” over “Model G 380”. SN is stamped on forestrap. Pistol is equipped with plain Patridge style sights. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl retains 99% blue finish with only a few scratches. Markings are sharp. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Breech of bbl is finished matte on top. Slide also retains 99% of the blue finish that is matte finished on top with a few small scratches. Frame retains 99% of the bright blue finish on both sides. Trigger guard & straps have a matte blue finish that only shows a few minuscule handling marks. Grips are fine with sharp checkering and no losses. Magazine retains 95% bright blue with a few small scratches. An opportunity to obtain a rare Hi-Standard Model G 380 pistol that is seldom seen in this condition. C&R 2) HI STANDARD C. SN 2619. Cal 22 Short. 6-3/4″ rnd bbl, full blue finish, 2-pc checkered plastic grips. Left side of bbl lug shows Hi-Standard address & patent mark over caliber designation. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Bbl retains 90% blue overall with some muzzle wear especially on right side and a few light scratches. Slide retains 95% blue with high point wear and a few light scratches. Markings are sharp. Frame shows 80% bright blue finish with most of the loss on the grip straps. Magazine retains almost all of the blue finish with only slight scratch marks. Grips are very good with sharp checkering and no losses. A really nice Hi-Standard Model D. C&R 2) HI STANDARD DURA-MATIC MODEL 101. SN 734380. Cal 22 LR. 6-1/2″ bbl, full blue finish, 1-pc Bakelite grip with checkering and thumb piece. Bbl & top of bbl lug shows primitive engraving. Left side of bbl lug is marked “Dura-Matic”, left side of slide is marked “Hi-Standard” with lightning bolt finials. Right side of bbl lug is stamped with 3-line Hi-Standard address and caliber mark. Right side of slide is marked “M-101” toward the rear. SN is marked on forward right side of slide and on right rear of frame. Magazine is not marked with the exception of “5 & 10″ cartridge counter marks. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl retains a considerable amount of bright blue finish most of which is covered by the engraving. Slide retains 90% bright blue finish on the sides. Top of slide is matte blue with a few scratches. Frame shows a dull matte blue finish with high point wear and clear markings. Grip is very good, intact with sharp checkering. Magazine retains nearly all of its blue finish with slight scratch marks. An interesting Hi-Standard pistol with primitive decoration. C&R 3) HI STANDARD C. SN 78547. Cal 22 Short. 4-1/2” bbl, full blue finish, checkered plastic grips with Hi-Standard logo in a circle in the middle. Left side of bbl lug shows Hi-Standard address, patent mark & caliber designation. Left side of slide shows “Model C” over “22 SHORT”. SN is stamped on forestrap. Magazine is not marked. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Fine as professionally refinished. Pistol shows 99% of the blue finish overall. Markings are sharp and not washed out. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Bolt face is somewhat battered as is breech end of bbl. Grips are very good, intact with only a few small bruises. Monograms are sharp. A handy little Hi-Standard Model C in a fun caliber to shoot. C&R 4) HI STANDARD MODEL 107 OLYMPIC SUPERMATIC TROPHY. SN T0000006. Cal. .22LR. 5-1/2″ heavy round bbl with flutes at muzzle. Target sights. 2-pc checkered highly figured walnut grips with thumbpiece. Pistol is masterfully engraved. Engraving has been attributed to John Warren of Cape Cod, Mass. One of only 200 made. Bbl is engraved at breech in a scroll motif with a fine punch dot background. Slide is also engraved on both sides with full coverage scroll. Top of slide also shows scroll accents in front of sight. Right side of slide has a five circle Olympic logo inlaid in gold. Frame is engraved on the forward flats and on both trigger guard flats. Trigger guard is plain. Front strap and backstrap are expertly stippled. Bbl has three holes on the bottom for mounting weights. “HQ” within oval proof is stamped at the breech end. Cal designation is stamped on left side of bbl lug over model stamp on left side of frame. Right side of bbl lug shows two-line Hi-Standard address over model # and SN stamped on right side of frame. SN appears on right side of frame and on top left flat of slide. Sides of rear sight show scroll accent. Mag has cartridge counter marks five and ten stamped on right side. “6” is stamped on right side of base. Grips show wonderful figure overall. Pistol is housed in a pine case with red velvet liner. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Very fine as refinished after engraving. 99.9% of blue finish remains with slight loss on the mag catch. Bore is bright with sharp rifling. Face of bolt shows slight erosion. Engraving is sharp and crisp. All markings are sharp and crisp. Grips are fine with sharp checkering and no losses. Mag shows nearly all of the re-blued finish. Wide spur nickel trigger shows some flaking. A masterfully engraved Hi-Standard pistol attributed to one of the most talented American engravers of the 20th century whose work is now being appreciated. SN F7429. Cal. .44 MAG. 4-3/4″ bbl, full brushed stainless steel finish, 2-pc laminated wood grips. Revolver is engraved in a vine motif with a fine punch dot background. Engraving appears on both sides of the front sight, at the breech end of the bbl,ejector rod housing, on the front of the frame, in front of cyl, on recoil shield and loading gate, on rear of frame, around screws, apron of backstrap, and heel of backstrap butt. Bottom of trigger guard is also engraved. Cyl shows engraving on front and rear between bolt stops. Engraving has been attributed to Master Engraver Bill Mains, and is of B+ coverage. Left side of bbl shows Freedom Arms cal mark with Freedom, Wyoming U.S.A. address. Left side of frame shows patent mark, right side of frame is marked “FREEDOM ARMS PREMIER GRADE”. SN is stamped on bottom of frame and rear of cyl, SN is also written with electric pencil on left inside of backstrap. Right side of bbl lug is marked “Property of” over “U.S.” An ordnance wheel proof is stamped below. Both grips show a Hi-Standard monogram in a circle on both sides. Pistol is housed in an original Hi-Standard Model B box. Box has a red label on top. Box contains an instruction tag for this pistol. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. With flap holster that is unmarked, however is believed to be proper and correct. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine with typical minor edge wear, with several small scratches in frame and slide, but nothing of major distress. Sheet metal grips are exceptionally fine and are rarely seen in this condition. Traditional Italian proof marks on left rear with a small “1929” stamped underneath that. Holster is very fine with sound stitching, leather is still supple, no visible markings. C&R 2) GALESI MODEL 6. SN 147219. SN is stamped on right side of frame above trigger. Last 2 digits are stamped on inside rear of slide. Bbl, slide and frame all show “Crown N” proof marks on right side. Housed in a cardboard box with Haenel label. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: About fine. Slide and bbl retain 90% orig nickel finish with slight abrasion overall. Frame shows 80% nickel with wear near the trigger and on the fore and backstraps. Grips are very good with sharp checkering and clear logos. Magazine catch is stuck. Box is very good, intact with readable label. 18) FABRIQUE D’ARMES DEGUERRE LIBIA. SN 37452. Cal. 25ACP. 1-3/4″ bbl, full blue finish with 2-pc checkered hard rubber grips with “LIBIA” logo. Left side of slide is marked “FABRIQUE D’ARMES DE GUERRE DE GRANDE PRECISION” over “LIBIA PATENT-DEPOSE NO. 69094”. SN stamped on grip safety. Last 2 digits are seen on inside of slide at rear. Right side of frame has “SPAIN” marked in very small letters behind trigger. Magazine is nickle plated and not marked. Pistol is housed in a cardboard box with picture of pistol on top. SN A1643. Cal. 25ACP. 2″ bbl, full blue finish, 2-pc plastic grips that are checkered with “PAF” crossed bullet logo. Left side of slide is marked “JUNIOR” over “VERVAARDIG IN SUIDE-AFRICA” over “MADE IN SOUTH AFRICA”. “PAF” logo is marked on the front of the slide on both sides. SN is stamped on the backstrap. “164” is stamped on the left inside of rear of slide. Magazine is not marked. Pistol is housed in cardboard box with leatherette finish. End label shows model and SN. 1) BERETTA 74. SN A18964U. Cal 22 LR. 5-7/8″ bbl with adjustable rear sight mounted on breech. Full blue finish at anodized alloy frame 2-pc checkered plastic grips with thumb rest and Beretta logos. Bbl shows an Italian proof on the right side and is otherwise unmarked. Left side of slide reads “Pietro Beretta Gardone V.T. Cal. 22 LR”. Right side of slide is marked “PB-Mod. 74 Made in Italy”. SN is stamped on forward left side of frame. Right side of frame is marked “The Garcia Corp., Wash., D.C.”. Right side of frame near takedown lever “Smontaggio” “PB” is stamped to the rear. Forward trigger guard bow on right side shows Italian proof marks. Magazine is marked on left side “Cal 22 LR Made in Italy”. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl retains 99% blue with slight drag marks on the left side. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Sights are very good. Slide also retains 99% blue that is turning somewhat plum toward the rear. All markings are sharp. Frame retains nearly all of the black anodized finish with sharp markings. A very nice and accurate Beretta Semi-automatic pistol. 2) BERETTA 1951 PARABELLUM. SN 01990. Cal. 7.65 Luger (30 Cal. Luger). Right slide and receiver marked “01990” and “Smdntaggio”. Left slide marked “P.Beretta-Cal. 7.65 Mod. 1951-Para” over “Gardone V.T. – Italia”. Left receiver horns have multiple proof marks. Magazine unmarked. Push button safety just below hammer pivot. Square front sight integral to slide. Rear sight square notch non-adjustable. Safety, slide stop, mag release and hammer are serrated. Trigger long, smooth. Butt has lanyard loop. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Stocks show minor scratches, but good+ condition. Stock screws very good. Bore has minor frosting in grooves. Slide has minor scratches, both sides. Front grip strap very good. C&R 3) BERETTA 1915. SN 8785. Cal. 9mm. 3-3/4″ bbl, full blued finish, 2-pc checkered wood grips. Left side of slide reads “PIETRO BERETTA-BRESCIA-CASA FONDATA-NEL 1680” on top line. Bottom line reads “CAL. 9M.-P.BREVETTO 1915”. SN is stamped on left rear of frame. Last 3 digits of SN are stamped on left rear of slide and on left side of trigger. Magazine is not marked. Accompanied by a military style flap holster with extra magazine in a pouch. PROVENANCE: The Frank H. Wheaton, III Collection. CONDITION: Very good. Slide retains 90% blue with high point wear and muzzle wear. Blue has drifted to a plum patina. Markings are strong. Bbl shows most of the blue finish with slight muzzle wear and some abrasion at the rear. Receiver retains 80% blue finish with most of the wear on the grip straps. Magazines both retain considerable blue finished with light scratch marks. Grips are very good, intact with sharp checkering. Left side of bbl shows caliber mark. Black powder style frame shows three line Colt patent mark on forward left side. SN matches on frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. Cylinder was not turned. Grips not removed. Revolver is housed in an orig box with end label confirming features and showing manufacture in 1995. CONDITION: Appears new and unfired. No disassembly was affected.
