DESIRE THOMASSIN RENARDT (Austrian, 1858-1933) BACK FROM THE HUNT. Large oil on canvas evening scene shows five hunters with dogs walking on a snow covered dirt road through large forested area with clearing. A setting sun still casts light on the clouds. Signed lower left “Th. Renardt 1897” which appears to be over an earlier signature. Housed in a magnificent gilt gesso decorated fancy frame. SIZE: 29-1/2” x 22”. CONDITION: Relined, inpainting.
