FOUJITA TSUGUJI (TSUGUHARA LEONARD) (Japanese, 1886-1968) VASE OF FLOWERS. Oil on canvas mounted on masonite still life scene shows a tapered blue banded white vase on a table with colorful flowers. Several flowers are seen lying on the tabletop. The vase of flowers is presented in front of a white window with hints of green drapes. Signed lower right “L Foujita”. SIZE: 28-1/2” x 21”. CONDITION: The painting has been cut off its stretcher and mounted on masonite. The stretcher with the remaining canvas sides has been attached to the masonite. The wood of the stretcher appears to be of Oriental origin and there is a label from the Bando Art Gallery, Bando Hotel Seoul Korea. Some inpainting and restoration, fair. 9-26506 (5,000-8,000)
