EDWARD ARMFIELD (British, 1817-1896) “THE HEIGHT OF IMPUDENCE”. Oil on canvas scene shows three dogs looking up at an open unlit wall lantern which houses a mouse. The dogs rest their front paws on an upside-down shallow milk bucket. Signed lower right “E. Armfield”.. Housed in a modern gilt molded wood frame. Pencil titled and signed on back stretcher also.
