*EARLY WINCHESTER MODEL 71 CARBINE. Cal. 348 WCF. Standard grade carbine with 20” tapered round bbl, ramp front sight with hood, slot blank in the rear dovetail and a factory bolt peep sight. This is the early model with long top tang and high comb. It has uncheckered wood with semi-beavertail forearm and pistol grip stock and checkered steel buttplate. SN 3363. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl and magazine tube retain 95-96% strong bright original blue. The receiver retains about 90% strong original blue with edge wear and thin on the bottom. The upper and lower tangs retain most of their bright blue and the buttplate is a silver metal color. The buttstock is sound and retains about 95% of its bright original varnish with the forearm retaining about 60% original varnish. Brilliant shiny bore. 4-49992 JR203 (2,250-3,250)
