BEAD AND QUILL DECORATED PLAINS MOCCASINS. Last quarter of the 19th Century. Adult size Native tanned uppers with hard soles. A-cut fringe decorated hide cuff with blue trade cloth has been added. Parallel lines of quill work cover the center of the vamp, a bold geometric design in sinew sewn bead work surrounds the edge. Colors include white heart red, greasy yellow, blue and dark blue. SIZE: 10-1/2″ l. PROVENANCE: Private Western Collection. CONDITION: Bead work and hide in very good condition, much of the quill work is missing due to insect damage. 9-91757-6 (1,500-2,000)
