*WINCHESTER MODEL 76 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 45-60. Standard grade 2nd model rifle with 28” round bbl, full magazine, half-nickel front sight and 1876 marked ladder rear sight. It has the screwed on dust cover rail, uncheckered wood with straight stock and crescent steel buttplate with trap containing a four-piece brass and iron-wiping rod. Accompanied by Winchester factory letter and a photograph of the original owner, “King” Henry Puzey, a Civil War veteran who bought the gun on his 40th birthday. SN 10708. CONDITION: Very fine plus, retains about 95% strong bright original finish overall with light muzzle wear and edge wear on the receiver. The receiver has some scattered spots of light surface rust that has turned to patina. There are a couple of dings over the chamber area of bbl, the lever and hammer retain 75-80% case colors fading to silver. Brilliant shiny bore. 4-49977 (10,000-12,000)
