WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). Standard grade, 3rd model rifle with 24” oct bbl, full magazine, homemade Rocky Mountain front sight blade with semi-buckhorn rear sight. It has straight grain walnut wood with straight stock and crescent steel buttplate with trap. Accompanied by Cody Museum yellow sheet. SN 246409. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Bbl retains 85-90% original blue with edge wear and fading to plum. The magazine tube retains about 95% strong bright original blue, as does the foreend cap. The right side of the receiver retains 95-96% strong bright original blue with some light surface discoloration. The left side of the receiver and sideplate has numerous spots of deep pitting but retains 70-75% bright original blue. The hammer retains 90% dark case colors and the lever 25-30% colors. The hammer has a repaired spur. The buttplate retains 50-60% dark faded case colors. Strong bright bore with scattered moderate pitting. 4-49973 JR197 (4,000-5,000)
