RARE BUFFALO BILL ADVERTISING TIN SIGN. Very large litho on metal of a middle-aged W.F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody, 19-1/2” x 13-1/2” vertical image size in a gold plaster frame. It depicts Col. Cody dressed in formal attire wearing a cravat, his trademark cowboy hat, gloves and carrying a cane. His topcoat and double-breasted suit appear to be matching fabric, very likely of English manufacturer. The left lower corner has the printer’s mark “Sentenns & Greene/227-29-31 BLEECKER STREET, N.Y.” and the lower right corner has a facsimile of the great man’s signature “Sincerely Yours,/W.F. Cody/”Buffalo Bill””. CONDITION: Good. The image is sharp, slightly faded with numerous small spots of rust and some light areas of white paint where it appears that someone has set something on the image. The gold background is slightly soiled and faded. The frame is chipped with some losses. 4-49358 JR406 (1,000-1,500)
