*WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 44WCF. Standard grade rifle with 24” oct. bbl and full magazine. It has half-nickel front sight and a semi-buckhorn rear sight. It has uncheckered wood with straight stock and crescent steel butt plate with trap. Accompanied by a folder of paper material compiled by the original owner consisting of letters, newspaper articles and notes, mostly dated 1903 & 1904. Several of these letters are from Winchester to the owner, a Mr. Daniel K. Hall of Glen Cove, New York. SN 570267. CONDITION: Exceptional, as new, possibly unfired, retaining virtually all its original factory finish to both metal and wood. The receiver and side plates have a few small speckles of pinpoint rust with a small flaked area at the top rear. Wood has a few minor handling and storage mars and the lever and hammer retain most of their brilliant case colors, turned silver on the outside of the finger loop. The buttplate tang retains most of its original case colors with the crescent area turned silver. Brilliant shiny bore. 4-49355 JR35 (12,500-17,500)
