WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). Standard carbine with 20” bbl, full magazine with square post pinched front sight and 900 yd carbine ladder rear sight. The receiver has a staple and ring on the left side. Wood is nicely grained walnut with straight stock and smooth carbine buttplate with trap containing a four-piece brass and iron wiping rod. SN 293121. CONDITION: Extremely fine plus, retaining virtually all its bright original factory finish to both metal and wood with only a spot or two of extremely fine sharp edge wear. A pinhead of rust on the right rear frame, a pinpoint of rust on the left rear frame and one tiny line of white at the left rear top of the frame. The lever and hammer retain about all of their original bright case colors. The loading gate has 98% of its brilliant niter blue and extractor about all of its original niter blue. The buttplate retains about 80% case colors, brilliant on the tang. There are a couple of small spots of discoloration on the bottom front frame scallop. The sight ladder has flaked to gray.
