WINCHESTER SPECIAL ORDER MODEL 1873 SEMI DELUXE RIFLE. Cal. 38WCF. Scarce third model rifle with special order 26” full oct bbl, button magazine and uncheckered wood with pistol grip stock and crescent steel buttplate. Bbl has 1/2 nickel front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight with Lyman tang sight. SN 274703. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl retains about 95% dull blue with light edge wear and minor handling and storage nicks. The receiver retains about 85% thin bright blue with 90% thin niter blue on the loading gate. The receiver has stration marks on both sides. The lever retains traces of original case colors being mostly a silver patina. The hammer contains 75-80% strong case colors. The stock has a 1-1/2” repair at the toe, otherwise the wood is sound and retains 40-45% varnish on the forearm and about 80% on the stock. Bright shiny bore. 4-49271 JR19 (4,500-6,000)
