NEW ENGLAND PAINT-DECORATED PINE SEA CHEST. Circa 1850. The rectangular hinged lid with applied molding painted with a fully-rigged ship above the conforming case, the interior fitted with till, the sides with beckets, the front decorated with opposing dolphins centering a ship’s wheel. The whole painted on a blue-green ground on a plinth base. SIZE: 16″ h. x 46″ l. x 17-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Retains original painted surfaces with appropriate wear. 9-91871 (500-700)
