19TH CENTURY SCHOOLGIRL NEEDLEWORK SAMPLER BY HANNAH W. SMITH. The colorful needlework has alpha and numeric rows and a colorful flower border encompassing a six line verse and pot of flowers and vines. Over the pot is “Hannah W Smith’s Work Age 11 Years”. First half of the 19th Century. Placed in a modern wood frame with cardboard backing. PROVENANCE: Thulin Estate, Hamden, Maine. Accompanying lot is a copy of provenance from the grandson. SIZE: 16-3/4” x 11-1/4”. CONDITION: Last name appears to have been re-worked, otherwise good. 9-29890 (400-600)
