Large oil on canvas marine battle scene shows a large three-mast gunship, possibly the Constitution, firing from one side on another ship which has sustained heavy damage and is ablaze. Vivid colors emphasize the dramatic scene. Signed lower right. Housed in what possibly may be its original gilt molded wood frame. SIZE: 54-1/2″ x 50-1/2″.
