V. CHEVALIER (19th Century) PORTRAIT OF THE SHIP “ELIZABETH D.”. Graphite and colored pencil ship portrait of the American ship Elizabeth D. The four-mast vessel is sailing left to right under full sail. It flies various flags including the United States. There is a tug off the stern and a steamship off the bow. A lighthouse with American flag flying is seen at point of land. Signed lower right. Housed in a black molded wood frame. SIZE: Sight: 14″ x 25″. CONDITION: Paper has glue spots at edges and some wrinkling to right side. Otherwise good. 9-90863 (800-1,200)
