EUGENE GRANDIN (French, 1833-1919) PORTRAIT OF THE SHIP “MOSES DAY”. Outstanding small watercolor of the US ship Moses Day, Captain by T O Woodworth. The ship in full sail sailing right to left flying American flag. Several people on deck. The ship having a black hull sailing through light green and blue sea. A cliff side land mass is seen off the stern. Signed and dated “1870 Havre”. Wide matte having the ship name and Captain. Housed in a simple gilt frame with matte. A typed sheet with ship information is attached to back indicating that it was built in 1868 in Richmond, Maine by T. J. Southard & Son. SIZE: 6″ x 7-1/2″.
