*PRE-WAR COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER. Cal. 45 Colt. Blue and case colored with 4-3/4” bbl and fine old rugged stag grips. Accompanied by a spare set of 1st generation Colt hard rubber grips with the number “625” scratched inside of each. SN 315657. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Bbl retains about 90% original blue, strong and bright on the right side slightly faded on the left side. The ejector rod housing has blue in the sheltered areas. The cylinder retains 95-97% original blue, slightly thinned with minor flaking and a thin cylinder line. The frame and hammer retain 10-15% case colors with a brilliant spot on the left side with the balance a light silver/gray patina with a spot of rust pitting on the right side and another under the loading gate. The trigger guard and backstrap retain 75-80% original blue turning plum on the gripstraps. Strong and bright around the trigger guard. The stag grips fit wonderfully and the left side has a wonderful mellow golden color while the right side is quite dark. Brilliant shiny bore. Good mechanics. The spare grips are extremely fine with minor diamond point wear. 4-49326 JR349 (2,500-3,500)
