GROUP OF STATE OF MAINE PAINT DECORATED COVERED POTATO STAMPED BASKETS. Second half 19th century. The six splint examples with covers, of square, rectangular and round forms, four with potato stamped polychrome decoration. SIZE: Largest 10″X 17″ X 11″ and 13″ X 15″ X 12″. Smallest 4 1/1″ X 6 ” X 4″. CONDITION: All in used condition with good decoration, somewhat faded. Some minor losses and damage to splints. 9-91884 (500-800)
