WILLIAM GUY WALL (American, 1792-1864) HUDSON RIVER SCENE. Oil on canvas scene shows panoramic view of river winding through tall mountains. Left side has two small hills, one with stone tower. People are harvesting hay on left slope. In right foreground is a bridge, which ends at a gate house. Appears to be a flat land area below. Signed “W. Wall”. Housed in a period gilt wood frame. Canvas stamp to back “G. Rowney & Co., London”. SIZE: 12” x 18”. CONDITION: Two patches to canvas. Some spot inpainting and some inpainting to stretcher edge. Otherwise good. 9-96772 (1,500-2,000)
