MINIATURE ANTIQUE FEDERAL BLIND DOOR SECRETARY. Pine construction, step back design with fold-over desk writing surface below two blind doors which open to reveal a fitted interior having seven drawers, a central compartment and four cubby holes, above which are two long half-drawers and molded cornice top. FINE PINK QUARTZ AND JADE FIGURAL INKWELL. Pink quartz, foo dog handled jar shape holds metal inkwell having hinged top with pink quartz finial. PAIR OF INTERESTING STERLING AND COBALT GLASS CHAMBERSTICKS BY TIFFANY & CO. Glass cylinder sets into sterling frame which has a tall candle cup, round base and circled handled. Opposite handle is a candle snuff holder and candle snuffs are present. Bases marked “Tiffany &Co., Sterling, Portugal” with some hallmarks. Silver weight: 20 tr. oz. SIZE: 8” h x 3-1/2” dia. PAIR OF PAIRPOINT COVERED COMPOTES. Pair of compotes in Cornwall design have controlled bubble ball at bottom of stem and controlled bubble finial on lid. Pattern is vertical bands of flowers and leaves separated by a vertical line of cut circles in graduated size. SIZE: 12” t. FINE CHINESE EXPORT LARGE FOOTED PUNCH BOWL. Blue border, interior spray of colorful flowers with similar sprays on outside body. Two armorial crests, which feature a shield surrounded by a wreath of colorful flowers with a large red heart atop. Twisted banner with the word “Keep”. Monogrammed in red inside the shield. GEORGE II SILVER COFFEE POT. London, 1731, William Darker. Flared cylindrical body with curved spout, spiked scroll handle, slightly domed hinged cover with flattened ball finial. A fine example. MINIATURE ENGLISH SILVER TEAPOT. Hallmarks to base London, 1727. “J. G” (James Goodwin). Separate slightly domed cover has small wood turned finial. Teapot has scroll flat handle, angled spout water can shaped with flower and sea scroll decoration. Two solder marks to bottom of base. WEIGHT: 5 tr. oz. SIZE: 4” h. GEORGE III IRISH SILVER FOOTED BOWL. Dublin, 1790. Appears to be marked “M.W.” or “M.V.”. Tapering body with slightly flattened reeded rim set on a domed base with matching reeding on lip. WEIGHT: 7 tr. oz. SIZE: 4-3/4” h x 5” dia. CONDITION: Possible repair to side and rim. 12-14 (500-1,000)


ALEX LEFORT (French, 20th Century) TWO NORMANDY VIEWS. “Normandy Tree” and “Normandy View”. Oil on canvas scenes show panoramic landscape. One having curving road with trees and hills. The other shows large tree with woman beneath with distant landscape. Signed lower right. Housed in identical fancy gilt pierce D carved wood frames. Titled on reverse. Frames are branded “B. QUEEN ANNE PAINTED MAPLE OVAL TAVERN TABLE. Oval two board top having shaped skirt and four straight cabriole legs ending in pad feet. Brown paint with an earlier red paint history is seen on base. INTERESTING CARVING OF A SHOTGUN WEDDING BY DR. H. D. NIBLACK. Small metal tag indicates maker. Five 12” figures are mounted on a wooden mahogany base. Minister reads from open book, bride and groom stand directly in front and mother and father stand behind with man holding double barrel shotgun with mother grieving. Each piece is well carved with caricature type look. SIZE: Base is 18-1/2” x 11”. CONDITION: Very good. 12-336 (400-800)


JOHN LEECH (British, 1817-1864) “A SHOCKING YOUNG LADY INDEED”. Colored lithograph shows two young ladies and man with boy picking up sticks. Houses in the background. One lady is painting a black mask. Legend “A Shocking Young Lady Indeed Emily (Betrothed to Charles)” “Oh, Charles, Isn’t it Fun? I’ve Beaten Arthur and Julia, and I’ve Broke Aunt Sally’s Nose Seven Times”. Published by “Thomas Agnew & Sons 1865”. Housed in a large ogee birdseye maple frame with gold liner and watercolor matte. GEORGE III MAHOGANY SMALL DEMILUNE WASH STAND. First quarter of the 19th Century. D-shaped hinged top lifts to reveal a secondary top with holes for washbowl and accessories. Reeded edge on three turned ring decorated posts joined by a shelf containing one curved drawer on the right side and a faux drawer on the left. All supported by tall tapered turned legs with ring decoration. There is an ebony line inlay to sides of top and shelf area. Two small brass pulls faced with lion head. SIZE: 32” h x 20-1/2” w x 12-1/2” d. CONDITION: Finish stains and loss, horizontal crack in shelf. Generally in very good condition. 12-221 (1,000-1,500)


CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN BIDET ON WOOD STAND. Of tapering design with indented waist. Having 1-1/4” top rim decorated with butterflies and flowers. The interior decorated with sprays of flowers. The outside having a nice bottom border with floral sprays above. A conforming mahogany stand with X-stretcher and slightly curving legs. SIZE: 26” h x 2’ l x 14-1/2” at widest. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. 12-219 (1,000-2,000)


FOUR CONTROLLED BUBBLE CANDLESTICKS. Four matching candlesticks feature swirling controlled bubble inside lightly ribbed stem. Each has saucer foot and slightly flaring candle cup. SIZE: 10” t. CONDITION: One candle cup has been broken and reglued and others have very minor roughness to edge, otherwise very good. 12-150 (500-700)


AIDEN LASSELL RIPLEY (American, 1896-1969) MAKING CANVAS. Colorful interior watercolor shows three men seated on small benches, which have tools fitted in the end. Each one is shown with large canvases in lap and they appear to be stitching. Possibly for sails. Signed lower left “A. Lassell Ripley”. Housed in a fine molded wood gilt frame and wide white matte. SIGHT SIZE: 15-1/2” x 19-1/2”. CONDITION: Very good to excellent. 12-327 (2,500-5,000)


REVERSE SERPENTINE FRONT GRADUATED FOUR DRAWER CHIPPENDALE CHEST. Country chest , which at one time was in red paint. Pine case with what appears to be maple drawer fronts and base. Drawers graduate from 5” to 7”. Old refinish. Period hardware and escutcheon plates. New England origin, possibly Maine. Molded edge top having molded edge drawer dividers. TWO FACETED CRYSTAL COMPOTES. Beautiful compotes have faceted windowpane type design and rest atop and applied faceted crystal base. Underside of foot has 31-ray starburst design. SIXTY-ONE PIECES OF CUT GLASS BARWARE. Bottom third of each glass is cut in a beautiful diamond crisscross design (very possibly Irish). GEORGE A. WEYMOUTH (American, 1936-) “SNOWDROPS”. Large watercolor scene shows fallen tree next to snow covered rock with snowdrop flowers beside. Signed lower left “G. Weymouth”. Housed in a simple painted wood frame with a thick white matte. Weymouth is a Brandywine River Valley artist working in the tradition of Andrew Wyeth and is the founder of the Brandywine Conservancy. “Coe Kerr Gallery, New York” label affixed to back. CHIPPENDALE SLANT LID FOUR DRAWER BIRCH DESK. Four graduated cockbeaded drawers. Appears to have original hardware. Slant lid rests on two pullout slides and opens to reveal a seven drawer and six pigeon hole interior. Central large drawer has fan carving. Cutout applied molded base. Refinished. OGDEN MINTON PLEISSNER (American, 1905-1983) SNIPE SHOOTING. Outstanding large watercolor shows two hunters with guns ready to fire at a snipe, which has been flushed by a black and white pointer. The scene is shown in late fall with a New England farm behind a grove of trees. Low hills in the background with white and blue sky. A cascading stream with boulder lined banks is in foreground. Signed lower left “Pleissner”. Housed in its original molded painted wood frame with white liner. Reverse has label “Reproduction Right to the Painting Expressly Reserved by the Artist Ogden M. EARLY GEORGE III STYLE CARVED MAHOGANY LOVESEAT. Low backrest with lobed top rail, roll over arm rests, a conforming removable cushion above a lobed seat rail. Raised on shell carved cabriole legs ending in scroll toes. Presently reupholstered in a light colored quilted flower material. SIZE: 33-1/2” h x 50” w x 25-1/2” at deepest. CONDITION: Very good. REGENCY CARVED MAHOGANY DROP LEAF SOFA TABLE. Second quarter of the 19th Century. Rectangular reeded edge top with drop leaves having rounded corners. Above a frieze having two drawers on one side and two faux drawers on the other. Each drawer fitted with two brass knobs having lion faces. All supported by two out sweeping reeded top legs with brass cup castor feet on each side. At the end of the frieze and bottom sections of leg post are reeded panels outlined with ebony inlay. The leg supports also have edging and line ebony inlay. SIZE: 28” h x 20-1/2” d x 31-3/4” w (closed); 53-1/4” w (open). CONDITION: Very good. Some repairs to top and legs. 12-12257 (4,000-6,000)

Double pointed arch door with fine mahogany grain flanked by inset reeded corner columns with decorative inlay below. The block base set on ogee bracket feet. Key, pendulum and weights are present. GEORGE III INLAID MAHOGANY BREAKFRONT BOOKCASE. In three parts. Removable flat top molded shaped cornice above the bookcase section having four glazed doors with silk lined interior. Three shelves to center section and three to each side. Sides are inset 5” from center section. Offset lower section with central secretary drawer opening to a fitted writing interior, above a pair of cupboard doors fitted with recessed oval panels flanked at each side by a pair of cupboard doors having recessed diamond panels all raised on a bracket base. Left side doors opens to reveal three shelves. Right door opens to reveal four drawers, each fitted with brass knob. Bottom cupboard central doors open to reveal three pullout open drawers. Interior of desk has tooled green leather writing surface, nine inlaid drawers and six cubby holes. Secret drawer behind one of the drawers. SIZE: 94-1/2”h x 71” at widest x 20-3/4” at deepest. Central inlay of light and dark 8” two handled urn medallion surrounded by a wreath of flowers in an oval rosewood background. Dark and light border inlay. Inlay medallion is 12” x 8-1/2”. Each leaf with similar border and having a 9” paterna oval inlay. Top has molded edge. A conforming frieze having book inlay at top of each leg. Single drawer with no brass, four tapered square legs terminating to brass cupped castor feet with dark wood applied molded ankles. Below ankles has feather decoration to corner edges. The leaves with matching mahogany having a plain banded edge inlay edged with ebony. The outside edges of the top have a mahogany veneer. Slightly bowed ends with light colored panels, one side having a dovetailed drawer which never had hardware. All raised on four tapered square legs ending in a spade style foot. The rectangular upright plate within an architectural framework carved with diamond strap work enclosing flower heads and with ribbon twist, flower head and egg-and-dart borders. Flanked by pendent floral branches surmounted by a frieze applied with a central pierced medallion flanked by crossed acanthus leaves and bow knotted floral garlands. Flanked by a side faux drawer and faux glass door. Brass line inlay to cabinet and drawers. Diamond shaped ivory escutcheons. There are four columns in the Egyptian motif with sphinx capitols, tapered wood column having brass inlay ending in human feet. Decorative brass applied band to base.
