FRAMED PAINTED MEMORIAL TO GEORGE WASHINGTON. The fine linen on panel memorial shows a bust of Washington surrounded by a wreath with ten stars surmounted by two cherubs holding wreath flanked on the left by a standing Lady Justice with robe and balance scale holding a sword above the cherubs. Flanked on the right side with Lady Liberty holding a spear crossing the sword above the cherubs and holding a US shield and having a flag colored robe. Arching across the top are ten golden stars and under Washington’s bust is a paper scroll, medal and sword. A gold background color completes the image. Housed in its original black painted wood frame with red and gold pin striping. SIZE: Painting is 7-3/4″ x 9″. Overall is 10″ x 11″. CONDITION: Nice fine consolidated craquelure surface on both painting and frame. Discolored varnish, very good. 9-91396 (800-1,200)
