JOHANN HERMAN CARMIENCKE (German, 1810-1867) SHEEP GRAZING. Oil on canvas panoramic scene shows sheep grazing with shepherd and couple walking with dog beside. A large lake is seen with many sailboats having a tall mountain backdrop. Dramatic white clouds and blue sky finish the painting. Artist and title are on back of wax relining. SIZE: 23-1/2” x 28-3/4”. CONDITION: Relined. There are several filled areas that have remained unpainted, mostly in sky. Some areas of thin paint, otherwise good. 9-27776 (3,000-5,000)
