CONNECTICUT RIVER VALLEY BANNISTER BACK ARMCHAIR. Late 18th Century. Scalloped and scrolled crest with pierced heart design above four flat molded splats. The stiles headed by ball and urn-turned finials joined to angled arms with gouged grips above baluster turned supports joined to a trapezoidal woven seat. Bobbin turned legs joined by double baluster boxed stretchers. Whole in a brown wash with black paint. SIZE: 44-3/4″ h x 16″ seat h. CONDITION: Appears structurally intact in need of tightening and regluing with no visible damages or repairs. Surface is mixture of old and later. 9-91455 (1,000-2,000)
