PAIR OF RAISED PANELED DOORS DECORATED BY RUFUS PORTER (American, 1792-1884). The doors having been removed from the second floor of the Carroll Rounds House in West Buxton, Maine. The Carroll Rounds House is mentioned in Jean Lipman’s book Rufus Porter: Yankee Pioneer on page 178. The doors having grain painting on one side with wheat stocks on each of four long raised panels leaving the two small raised panels without. Original hardware present. SIZE: 77-3/4″ h x 30-1/2″ w. CONDITION: Significant Craquelure, some dings and scratches but generally very good. 9-74691 (2,000-4,000)
