EXCEPTIONAL LAVAR KIRMAN ORIENTAL CARPET, SOUTHEAST PERSIA. Circa 1900. Dense polychrome floral vinery interspersed with stylized cypress trees and alternating flowering vases, the central panel forming opposing half medallions within a conforming main border of pink, beige and pale indigo flowerheads, all four sides with a burnt orange cartouche in Arabic of poetic couplets. SIZE: 11 ft 4 in x 8 ft 1 in. CONDITION: Extremely fine with good pile and pleasing muted palette, small areas of slightly pile, blue end stripes, reduced by one or two rows of knots. 9-91492 (12,000-15,000)
