ENGRAVED SMITH AND WESSON THIRD MODEL RUSSIAN REVOLVER. Cal. 44 Russian. Nickel finish with 6-1/2” bbl with reissue markings, integral front sight with 2-pc ivory grips, the right side carved in a crude Russian double headed eagle. The engraving is intertwined foliate arabesque patterns covering about 40% of the frame and bbl with patterns over the chambers. It has a fine punch dot background. SN 536. CONDITION: Very good, retains most of a renickeled finish with some scattered fine pitting underneath. Grips have several age lines and a full-length crack on the left side. Strong bore with moderate pitting. 4-49287 JR301 (1,750-2,750)
