CASED COLT 1877 LIGHTNING SHERIFF’S MODEL DA REVOLVER. Cal .38 Colt. Fine Sheriff’s model with 3-1/2” round bbl, half moon front sight and rampant colt bird head hard rubber grips. Accompanied by a fine English oak casing, green velvet lined with oak cartridge block containing 12 rounds of Frankford Arsenal cartridges, small nickeled oil bottle and an L shaped, wire wiping rod screwdriver. SN 93981. CONDITION: Very good, all matching with bbl retaining 97-98% strong bright original blue. The frame retains traces of original case colors with the balance truned silver. The trigger guard and backstrap retain 40-50% original blue with the balance a dark smooth patina. The cylinder has blue only in the flutes. Bright shiny bore. Good mechanics. The case is very fine, retains most of an old refinish and the interior most of its relined velvet. 4-49849 JR449 (800-1,200)
