COLT LONDON DA 1878 REVOLVER. Cal. 476. All blue with 5-1/2” bbl with Hartford & “DEPOT 14 PALL MALL LONDON” address. The caliber is marked on the front trigger guard web and there are tiny British proofs between each chamber. It has rampant Colt birdhead hard rubber grips with lanyard loop in the butt. It is accompanied by an English-style mahogany case with red felt lining with compartment for the revolver, “L” shaped screw driver, wood handled wiping rod, oil bottle and cartridge block for 15 rounds, which contains 6 rounds of original ELEY ammunition. SN 18807. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl retains 94-96% strong bright original blue with several small tiny nicks and a ding with light muzzle wear. Ejector rod housing retains 88-90% blue. The cylinder and frame are flaked to about 75% strong bright original blue and the gripstraps to about 50% blue. The flaked areas are a light patina. Grips are extremely fine with little or no wear, turned chocolate. Brilliant shiny bore. The case, possibly a reproduction, is crisp with slightly faded interior.
