*WINCHESTER MODEL 1892 TAKE DOWN LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 25-20. Standard grade rifle with 24” round bbl, full magazine, modified hunting front sight and replacement semi buckhorn rear sight with Lyman tang sight. It has close-couple double-set triggers and sling eyes. Wood is very nicely figured extra finish walnut with straight stock and crescent steel buttplate. Accompanied by Cody Museum yellow sheet. SN 364803. CONDITION: Fine, bbl retains about 75% strong bright original blue. The magazine tube about 92-93% bright blue. The receiver retains 75-80% strong original blue thin over the top and a silver brown patina on the bottom. The takedown ring has been cleaned to bright metal. Wood is sound with the stock having some dark oil staining at the receiver, otherwise retains about 90% strong original varnish with usual handling and use marks with a couple of heavy scratches and bruises on the right side and some light bruises on the left side. The forearm, probably a replacement, retains most of a fine professional finish. Strong bore, dark in the grooves. 4-49982 JR206 (2,500-3,500)
