*WINCHESTER MODEL 1892 TAKEDOWN LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). Standard grade rifle with 24” round bbl, full magazine and extra fancy wood with straight stock and crescent steel buttplate. Accompanied by Cody Museum yellow sheet. SN 331090. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Bbl and magazine tube retain 95-97% strong bright original blue with some scattered very fine pitting just above the forearm. The receiver retains about 90% original blue, bright on the sides, turning plum on the top and bottom and on the takedown ring with some scattered light surface rust. This beautiful wood is sound and retains 95-97% bright original varnish. The lever and hammer retain about 90% case colors, bright in sheltered areas. The buttplate retains traces of case colors with the balance turned silver. Bright shiny bore with scattered light pitting. 4-49983 JR204 (2,750-3,750)
