KEY CITY HOSE COMPANY SIGN Late 19th C. sign from Sturgis, South Dakota when it was known only as the Dakota Territory. Sturgis was a hub in a gold mining industry and became known as “Key City”. Repose stylized sheet metal skeleton key bearing the words “Key City Hose Co.” in very early paint with the “Key” signifying the first word. Probably hung inside firehouse due to its nice state of preservation. SIZE: 73-1/2″ l x 21″ w. CONDITION: Nicely oxidized sheet metal surface with original painted lettering. 1-29067 (400-600)
