17″ CIRCLE DOT BRU DOLL This young lady has beautiful bisque with bulbous blue eyes with mauve eyeshadowing and flawless bisque. Her mouth has molded teeth, accentuated by pale lips with highlighting to lips. This chubby cheeked cherub would be a wonderful addition to a collector who likes dolls that are fresh to the market. CONDITION: The pristine kid body is still in the standing position and her bisque hands are perfect. Doll has a small raised pimple in the bisque immediately below her right eyebrow. Doll still retains remnants of original skin wig, but now wears blond mohair replacement. Shoes are original and marked “1”. Rear of head marked “1” with Circle Dot crescent below. WILLIAM TELL MECHANICAL BANK W/ORIGINAL BOX Original dovetailed wooden box with sliding lid. And is impressed into wood “One Bank No. 331, “William Tell”, The J. & E. Stevens Co., Cromwell, Conn., U.S.A.” Following in the historic tradition of William Tell shooting the apple off of his son’s head, coin is placed on top of rifle barrel and fired when right foot is depressed thus rocking back William’s head and sending coin towards his son. Coin then hits apple and proceeds into castle activating bell within. SIZE: 10″ l x 3-1/2″ w x 7″ h. CONDITION: The bank has had repairs and considerable paint touch up, although the value of this bank is primarily in the original wooden box. 1-126 (1,200-1,500)

MAMMY MECHANICAL BANK This bank features the black “mammy” feeding the infant picaninny lying on her lap. The bank is activated by placing a coin on the mammy’s spoon (missing) and pushing the lever which in turn twists her wrist and deposits coin into the open picaninny’s mouth. An alternate coin slot is on the mammy’s apron in the form of a pocket. SIZE: 4″ l x 4″ w x 8″ h. CONDITION: Paint is very good but would definitely benefit from a professional cleaning job. BOY SCOUT CAMP MECHANICAL BANK A choice example of a desirable bank. The three boy scouts at their camp, on emerging from the tent while the other two stand guard over their campfire. The middle scout raises and lowers a flag over the cauldron when the bank is activated. Fine colors including green base highlighted with a splash of copper, a brown & green tree with a white owl, and a cream colored tent w/red flag. SIZE: 9-1/2″ l x 3-1/2″ w x 6″ h. BOY ROBBING BIRDS NEST MECHANICAL BANK A very fine all original bank in fine paint. The brown tree is accented by green vines and red berries; the green base is accented by orange flowers and the youth’s gray hat and copper ferns. As the youth tries to rob the nest of the bird eggs, mama and papa bird swoop in to save the day! Pushing down on the lever causes the branch holding the nest and the youth to “break”. JONAH AND THE WHALE MECHANICAL BANK An appealing bank with a biblical history. Jonah, who is holding a coin, is being fed to the whale when the bank is activated. The bank has a deep red base adorned with gold lettering and yellow supports & moldings. The top of the bank is a simulated ocean in sea green with an abundance of white highlighting. The boat is multi-colored and the whale is gray w/painted eyes and teeth. SIZE: 10-1/4″ l x 3-1/2″ w x 5″ h. CONDITION: The bank overall is in very good original condition but in need of cleaning. MAGICIAN MECHANICAL BANK This bank features a magician on an elevated stage with a table in front of him. When the lever is pressed, his hands drop his top hat over the coin sitting on the table as his head bows forward. DARKTOWN BATTERY MECHANICAL BANK This bank has a pitcher and catcher from one team with the “Possums” as batter. PROFESSOR PUG FROG’S “GREAT BICYCLE FEAT” MECHANICAL BANK A terrific colorful and action-filled bank! Bank is activated when bicycle crank is wound, coin is placed in Professor’s mouth and lever is depressed. Professor Pug Frog starts his counterclockwise journey depositing a coin in the jester’s bag. Continuing on his journey, the Professor then pushes against Mother Goose’s book, which in turn wobbles her tongue. In the final stage of his journey, he comes back to the upright and locked position, ready for his next trip. SIZE: 11″ l x 3″ w x 7-1/2″ h. GENUINE GENE AUTRY WRISTWATCH This scarce cowboy wristwatch with a lithograph portrait on Gene Autry on the dial, “Gene Autry Watch”, “Always your pal, Gene Autry”. EAGLE AND EAGLETS MECHANICAL BANK Well-appointed base with much detail features the mama eagle with coin in beak. When activating the ‘snake’ lever, mama eagle leans forward spreading her wings to the chirping eaglets in the nest, dropping coin from her mouth into the nest. SIZE: 7″ l x 4″ w x 6″ h. LION AND TWO MONKEYS MECHANICAL BANK This bank features a lion trying to get at two monkeys that are perched in a tree. When the coin is placed in the larger monkey’s hand, and ‘tree’ lever is depressed causing the coin to drop into the mouth of lion as the smaller monkey in rear looks over the shoulder of first monkey. SIZE: 8-1/2″ l x 3-1/2″ w x 8-1/2″ h. CONDITION: Paint is in good to very good condition, smaller monkey’s arms have some restoration. 1-325 (700-1,000)

STARKIE’S “THE ROBOT” MECHANICAL BANK This bank is made of aluminum and of a more recent vintage (20th Century); it is unique and not easily obtained for one’s collection. The bank is activated by placing a coin in the right hand of the “mail carrier” robot and pushing a lever down thus forcing the hand forward and depositing the coin in the slot in the door. SIZE: 5″ l x 4-1/2″ w x 9 h. CONDITION: Overall condition is very good. 1-332 (4,000-5,000)

PADDY AND THE PIG MECHANICAL BANK Another classic form of the Irishman “Paddy” restraining a piglet on his lap. When activated, the piglet kicks up his left front leg, kicking the coin off his nose and onto “Paddy’s” tongue, which then retracts into his mouth, depositing the coin. Wonderful detailing with larger-than-life features. SIZE: 7″ l x 4″ w x 8″ h. CONDITION: Overall paint is very good, but the bank would benefit from a professional cleaning. WILLIAM TELL MECHANICAL BANK Following in the historic tradition of William Tell shooting the apple off of his son’s head, coin is placed on top of rifle barrel and fired when right foot is depressed thus rocking back William’s head and sending coin towards his son. Coin then hits apple and proceeds into castle activating bell within. SIZE: 10″ l x 3-1/2″ w x 7″ h. CONDITION: Overall paint very good. 1-330 (700-1,000)

PUNCH AND JUDY MECHANICAL BANK Bank is in the classic form of the traditional Punch and Judy show. The figures are in a colorful curtained theater setting with Judy holding a frying pan and Punch holding his traditional club. SIZE: 3-1/2″ l x 6-1/4″ w x 7-1/2″ h. ALWAYS DID ‘SPISE A MULE MECHANICAL BANK This jockey version of this popular bank has excellent action. When a coin is placed in jockey’s mouth and lever is pushed, mule bucks throwing jockey overhead and as jockey’s head hits the log below, coin drops into base. SIZE: 10″ l x 2-1/2″ w x 8″ h. WONDERFUL 19TH C. CHILD’S BELL RINGING PUSH TOY The early wooden wheel, fitted with a handled shaft is affixed with bells. As the child pushes the wheel, the bell continually rings (what a delight on a rainy day?). The 19th C. toy has an old green surface, beneath which is the original red surface. The green repaint is very old. SIZE: 32″ h x 20-1/2″ wheel dia. CONDITION: Two dowels on the handles are old replacements. Otherwise generally good. 1-28417 (100-200)
